My fiancée just called and woke me up to tell me that the new schedule was up. I answer in a fog "Hello?" "Honey, bad news, the new schedule is up and we're not on it." Like I really needed to be woken up to hear that!!

I wouldn't count it out. We were never on any schedules that were posted on their website either.

Yeah, I'm not stressing too much about that list. They publish the list quite infrequently - I thought it was monthly but in fact it comes out quite irregularly, as we've seen.

It looks to me like they took a break and didn't look at any Packet3 files at all for these last 6 weeks. Now they've started to look at them again. The published list is just a snapshot at this moment in time of the interview schedule. If they are now indeed processing packet3 files I think we can expect more interviews to be scheduled as we go along without having to wait for an arbitrary monthly boundary.

I haven't totally given up hope for a June interview. It just depends upon whether we can convince them that they already have my name change information that was in the I-129F. We are sending them an extra copy anyway, and I also requested a new official letter from the NY Vital Records office in Albany. That will take a bit of time for me to get it and send it to Thailand, but we're prepared to jump through that hoop, and all others, as necessary.

Thank you very much for this information. It is quite reassuring that we may still be scheduled for this upcoming month. My fiancée combed the list so thoroughly, that she noticed that one case number was identical to ours except that two numbers in the middle were switched. She asked me "Do you think this could have been a typo?" Normally I'd say "No, it's probably just a coinicidence." However, since beginning this process and hearing all the stories I responded "Yes! It might be." So I emailed them to ensure that Packet 3 has been received and whether that in fact was our case number mistyped. We'll see what the reply says.

Again, thank you for reminding me that anything is possible and we'll just have to wait and see.

Just a question for anyone else in California. Do you know where I can find a copy of the Driver Handbook in Thai? My understanding is they made it for a few years and then stopped. I figured someone would have scanned the handbook and put it online, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I've found a few sample tests from 2005 that have been translated into Thai, but I'd like to find the actual handbook to help my wife. Her spoken English is ok, but she can't read very well.

So what is the average wait time from returning Packet 3 to interview being scheduled? I don't mean from returning the packet to the date of the appointment. Just how long until you know what the date is.

Shawn,

If you find it let me know too, we're here in Garden Grove. Noy's going to take her test soon so I wanted her to review it over in Thai before she goes to attempt it

It looks like the average wait time to receive an interview date w/ the Bangkok embassy is definitely not set in stone. Right now, about 6 weeks or so, just a guess since I haven't crunched the numbers. It says your fiancee/fiance is from Laos though, so shouldn't your interview be with the U.S. embassy in Vientiane though?

She is a resident of Thailand with a non immigrant ED visa so according to my lawyer her case can be processed here in Thailand. My lawyer also seems to think he can have us a date in one week for the end of June. He submitted packet 3 today so I guess we'll see about that.

I guess anything is possible but that seems unlikely. My fiancee submitted packet 3 on 4/27, received by the embassy on 4/29. No date yet. Others have been waiting a LOT longer than me for a date as well. Maybe you'll get lucky though ;)

We had submitted Packet 3 on April 17, 2009 and have yet to receive an interview date. I emailed the embassy yesterday to confirm receipt and asked if we could have an interview date scheduled in June. I know this is not their policy, but I figured that it couldn't hurt to ask. They responded in less than 24 hours confirming they have received packet 3 and that they "will schedule your interview in order."

As rsn said, others have been waiting since the end of March, so I guess we'll have to wait our place in line. I am still confident that we may get an June date, thanks to AaronLV's comment that just because the case is not listed on the interview schedule does not mean it might not be scheduled during that time period.

May we all get interivew dates soon!

K2 visa wait time interview?

Wild guess? Does anyone know if a k2 visa would be scheduled quicker for interview or its the same as wait your turn? We sent our k2 paperwork in around the first week of May.

glta

O.K. My memory is pretty fuzzy on this one, but ..... I believe that once the embassy had our k2 packet 3 ... we had the interview date set within 2 weeks. I think the interview date was set about a month to a month and a half out. (I remember being shocked at how fast the k2 portion went for us)

So, I'm thinking the whole process was about 2 months or less.

We did this about a year ago.

Good Luck,

Dvd

:innocent: FYI;

Who is waiting for package3(P3),shouldn't send back P3 till you get the package.

Because during now the embassy will not send the forms in the package, they will send you only the letter

tell you to dowload all the forms from the links;

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/immigrant_ ... cket3.html

Some of my friends got P3 yesterday, they are confirm (for K1)

and at the end of the letter they wrote:

Unfortunately, due to increased visa demand, the IV Unit will no longer be able to answer email

or telephone questions about appointment scheduling. Rather, please check our online

appointment schedule which is updated every Monday.

Question for who has k2 experience, (This question comes from reading Birchbeers issue with the embassy)

I was reading the forum and wanted to ask you something? I am currently getting a k2 visa for my stepson as my wife already has her k1 visa. We waited

till we got married to do the k2 to bring him to the usa. Now my question is in reading your message you said the embassy wanted the custody paper in a certain format from your wife? When you sent in the packet 3 didnt you send in the custody paper you already had? I am wondering why the embassy when reviewing the packet three papers sent out an interview if all wasnt ok with your papers ie: custody paper?

I am just concerned about time because we sent packet three in around the first week of May with the custody paper both in thai and english and I wonder if it will be ok or will we only find out at the time of the interview.

CHW - the link you posted is broken, can you repost it? Thanks.

From what I'm reading here, it means that they will no longer respond to our weekly emails trying to get the status of our P3 submission.

I don't think it means that people who want to make their P3 submission need to wait, I think they can still do it as soon as they have confirmation that it's arrived at embassy from NVC.

And if they are now going to post the interview schedule weekly, that will be an improvement from the current sporadic basis of doing it once every 4-6 weeks or whatever.
