Thanks for all the information! I sent an email to Chada with the information and submitted a request via the website. I'm also going to looking into change restrictions for the flights.

Just as an FYI flying Korean Air is really sweet if you ever get the option. I've made 3 round trips and the service has been fantastic.

Korean Air is really nice if you fly from Dallas. Only one stop, and the flight attendants actually do their job. Flying American through Tokyo sucks. They give you your drink and a meal, and then hide for the remaining 9 hours.

Until recently, people were waiting about 10 days from sending back Packet 3 and receiving Packet 4. Now there are several people waiting over a month; we've been waiting about 3 weeks already. Our original plan has been for my fiancée to travel to America in the beginning of July to be wed at the end of the month. We're a bit concerned whether we can still accomplish this.

Our latest email interaction with the IV unit, below. On first email interaction, they were giving a 4-6 week window to set an interview date. Then it moved to 6-8 weeks. Now they don't even bother to give a window. Basically - "don't call us, we'll call you".

The completed Packet3 has been in their hands since April 8, today is May 6. One month, less 2 days. On top of several weeks from when NVC sent them the file until they sent us P-3. And on top of 2 months AP@NVC. And on top of 4.5 months at CSC. ENOUGH OF THIS ####### ALREADY!!! I'm about ready to scream at these a*holes.

If we hadn't gotten stuck at NVC, our file would have been in Bangkok back in January, ages before the Songkran/April seasonal delay (if that's what this is). So we paid the price of AP@NVC and the "reward" for that is we hit the slow season in BKK. Sorry for ranting but I'm just sick of this #######. It's May. I'm alone. I miss her. I want her here. Now. Rant off.

Looks like they only schedule 6 weeks out. April 10th to May 27...

I wonder if they put out 1 list a month?

They generally put it out once a month. That's what I've seen for the last year. The last one was updated April 10.

 I've been checking that !@$$$%@! web page each and every day for the past month. Waiting for it to rollover from April 10 to something later than that. Hasn't happened yet.

?? Does not compute. If she was at the hospital to do her medical, which must be submitted as part of P3, how could she have already submitted P3, had it accepted, and received an interview date?

Otherwise -that's what I recall of the situation for intererview scheduling a few months ago. Aaron - can you remind us of your experience? I vaguely recall Aaron getting his NOA2 right around the time we got ours. He sailed through NVC, got an appointment at the embassy within weeks, had a very brief delay after the interview when they wanted additional Evidence of Relationship docs, got the visa, and has been living happily ever after in Vegas ever since. I freely admit to being GREEN with envy.

Hmm, I must have misunderstood her. Either way though, for whatever reason this woman was at the hospital, she was claiming that it took her 15 days to get an interview date.

I thought that the medical was supposed to be done with P4. When they give you an interview date they also tell you go see the doctor. But you can take care of the medical before hand because it doesn't really matter when it's done as long as it's done before the interview.

Our interview was about 6 weeks after we received NOA2, and approximately 15 days after we sent P3 in. A few days after we sent in our P3 the attorney was at the embassy and checked that they had received it, they said yes, and then asked if she could schedule the interview and they did right there.

I would be GREEN with envy to if the shoe was on the other foot :)

Technically you are suppose to have it done prior to sending in P3, because on the check list you mark it off as done, but you don't send anything in confirming it was done. It doesn't really make sense not to have it done though since the part that takes the longest is the police report, and the medical is all of a couple of hours. We went and did our, police report, medical report, and did out visa receipt all the same day.

How would you feel if your girl had everything to send in packet 3 but had been too busy for the last 2 days???

This was the main reason I hired an attorney.

Hey UScandual and Danny+Chada,

Yep...I had quite a 'flashback' to my K1 days when I read your posts. I'll freely admit, I had a couple of similar experiences when I was the exact same stage that you two guys are at now, and I remember being quite wound-up about it! However, now that I'm well past the AOS stage and AAm is with me, when I read your posts and had the flashback, it just kinda made me laff  <sorry!>. Trust God, you guys are going to get through this and as you know you're almost there! Thats easy for me to say as I sit here with my perfectly Angelic wife though....so I have empathy for you guys! Luckily for me, I've always had a great deal of patience, but absolutely this K1 process did test me (AOS was a BREEZE though...even though we did have an interview...). Aam has infinitely more patience than I do. I think that is the 'Thai' in her, without a doubt...mai bpen rai...

Here is the part that reminded me of UScandual's journey...when we received our NOA2, it wasn't even sent to the NVC for about one+ month. It was just 'sitting'...that bugged me because the NVC step was supposed to be a 'quick part' of the journey. That was agonizing for me, because there was no status update via email/mail/or even by phone if I called. It just seemed 'lost'. It eventually made it to the NVC though and was outta there and on its way to BKK in about a week...so...total total time at the NVC was about 6 weeks+...

Here is the part that reminds me of Danny's journey. As you guys know, getting the police report can be a very slow process. It took about one month from the time I took AAm to the police dept in BKK to get the report before it finally arrived in the mail at her house up in Chiang Mai. It was easy for us to get, but painfully slow to receive in the mail. So, as soon as we got it, I was excited for Aam to put in her packet three and mail it off! I had the Packet 3 100% prepared for her...all she had to do was put the police report in the envelope and stick it in the mail! But...she just piddle-paddled around for a few days, which entirely baffled me! Like Chada, AAm claimed she was just really busy! So I called her a few days later and she said, "Oh! It is still in the car. I will go get it and mail it now." Then she called me back the next day and said that her son had washed her car and lost it! I thought surely we were going to lose another month on waiting for another one. However, the next week I was back in Thailand again and the first thing I did was have her go out and search her car...and she found it crumpled up under the seat! SHEESH!!!! So, we mailed everything in together that very day <haha>....

Now that I look back at those incidents, I remember about how much of a 'full life' AAm had in Thailand, and how much she gave up to come here and be with me... My life was rather empty at that time, I was just 'married to the job'...but she really was alive and full of life...so I can understand why she didn't feel as though things had to move at light speed. Now we both are fully alive and full of life

Like I said, AAm is way more patient than I am...so losing a week or two here or there along the way in the process was no big deal with her (I wasn't so gracious though  ). Plus, she really trusts in God so she knew things would work out in his time. And, of course, she was right. She's always quite right when she thinks that way....

Peace to you guys! Thanks for sharing your stories, you are both doing great! God Bless!

MarkNAan thanks for the great post! I got a real laugh out of it. While I have not encountered anything like that it fits the pattern for sure. What is it about our culture that drives us to get things done? Are we just a unique sampling of individuals on this forum that have the research DIY gene?
