I know this has been answered elsewhere, but not in the BKK embassy thread (at least that I can see). I make well above the 125% line, so I don't need to include asset information or bank records. Correct? Based on what I have read on other threads and VJ, I believe I am correct, but want to make 100% sure.

As long as you can prove the 125%, you are fine.

I have a letter from my employer, W2s from the past 3 years, and the IRS faxed my tax transcripts for the last 3 years too. I think that should do it.

Perfect!

Chada and I had nit noi good news today

IGORS shows its first NOA2 approval for an NOA1 with a 12/23 date. It wasn't us but that is the date of our NOA1. Watching IGORS up until now has been a fun little way to pass the time and play the guess what our number is today. That just changed...

If you see a guy walking little old ladies across the street thats me trying to build up some last minute good karma.

Congrats on the case completed, hope you get your interview date soon.

K. Mommy: Did you email the embassy to see if they received your case, is that how you know it arrived?

Does anyone know if there has been anyone successful in switching the interviews at the BKK embassy? Our K-3 interview is scheduled for April 17th, and being that the NVC says they mailed our file on March 31st to the embassy they should have it by the time we show up for our April 17th interview. To my understanding this means they should give us the CR1 at the time of the April 17th interview. If not we will wait 5 weeks until out May CR1 interview but I thought I would see if anyone knew anything... had any experience... or saw it happen.

Thanks.

K. Noi, I didnt email the embassy yet but I tracked the DHL accroding to the NVC auto message about sending the package to the embassy. I should email them to see if they really received it.

I hope that you can switch the visa from K-3 to CR-1, I really don't know much of the detail about switching the Visa.

Good luck. :)

Just an FYI for people bringing their spouse here from Thailand. The prejudice is pretty big with 90% of the Thais that are her already against your newly arrived spouse. If you think the Thais in Bangkok treat the up-country Thais bad in Thailand, wait until you get here. My wife has been here a month, and has already run into some pretty severe prejudice. If you wife is from Bangkok, you're fine. If not, don't take her around other Thais that are from Bangkok. Just a word of advice. They can be pretty mean.

well thats not nice at all. you would think that they would be happy to know someone from thier homeland. I have a friend that lives near here and his wife came here about the same time as yours. She has met only one other thai woman here but they get along. If anything like your experiancing happens to my wife, i will treat them to some very explicit words from my vast library of sailor talk. Thanks for letting my wife talk to your wife. It helped alot to calm her down about the interview. I appreciate it.

It's no problem. I just wanted people to be aware of that. Your wife can call my wife anytime. I have some fairly close friends that are Thai here that have treated her well. The casual Thais that we run into tend to look down on her because she doesn't speak English or drive a car. I'm learning as I go. I thought I knew it all living in Bangkok for 3 years. Apparently not. It was like pulling teeth to get it out of her. My American friend in Thailand that has lived there for 15 years warned me about this, but I just blew it off. Lesson learned.

That sucks, Chada is from Udon Thani... Maybe I can spin this as additional motivation for her to get her drivers license and improve the English.

Magic Girl says there is a web site for Thia's who immigrate here that talks about places to eat etc in the various cities. Maybe she can share that with us.

Anyone had any luck emailing the embassy? I've noticed that if I send more than one question, they only answer one. I've asked if they have received my application 3 times, and for some reason they haven't answered that one yet.
