Hi Aaron,

Read #8 on the instructions: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf

It is not worth it to get an RFE. Hope you are doing well. I haven't been around as we've been planning another wedding. My DIL is tired of snow and missing her hubby, but otherwise doing quite well. In twenty-nine days she'll get to see him again, if all goes well. She is a gem. I will miss her greatly when they move.

Thai Mom

I was referring to the FAQ on AOS and medical here on VJ. I sent in my AOS a month ago, and not RFE's yet. I did not include my I693 as part of my packet. Will keep you posted if I get an RFE. I did a lot of searching on the site, and I ran across a bunch of people who had their vaccinations done as part of their medical, and they did not get RFE's. So I sent it in, on a side note I did find a CS here in Las Vegas that transcribed the vaccinations for free, just had to drive down to them wait 10 minutes and that was it. I just didn't include them after reading the guide.

Hello Everyone

It has been a while since we last posted but I read the posts almost everyday and it looks like everyone's journey is moving along. All is well with us and we are very happy together.

We received our 2 year Green Card yesterday!!

The biometrics was taken late December and we received a notice in January that our case was transfered to California.

We received AP and EAD in February and Friday April 3 we received the "Welcome to USA" letter and the Green Card showed up Saturday April 4. No interview...My wife is very excited and happy.

Hang in there....sometimes things move very slowly and then you top that hill and coast for a while.

Best of luck to all

George and Joom

Hi, Has everyone always printed out chat logs or has anyone submitted soft copies on DVD? My fiancee and I chat all the time, but to print out 4-5 hours of chat logs per day for 4-5 months would be silly. But I do want to show the amount of conversation we are having.

I found out from NVC that the package was sent to embassy last week so I starting to preapre for packages 3 and 4 :D . Thanks for your help.

They do not allow electronic media inside the embassy. You have to print them.

I was thinking the same thing. I estimate that my proof of relationship packet will exceed 1000 pages (after going over my evidence today). This may be considered going overboard by some, but I don't want to take any chances.

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

FYI, anyone who isn't aware of the new packet 3 checklist (that is not on the embassy's website) should look at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...=185987&hl= where ThaitoUSA posted a scanned image of the English version. There is a notable change to the instructions that list what needs to be mailed back to the embassy.

I think that is going overboard, personally. Note that we have yet to have our interview, so I'm hardly the one to be giving 'expert' advice.

However from what I gather it's the quality of the evidence much moreso than the quantity that will get you through smoothly.

Have sufficient evidence of _mutual_ and _bidirectional_ communication, showing that you both initiate and respond to each other in your chosen communication medium. Having 1000 pages in which all contact is initiated by one party would be less valuable than 10 pages showing both parties equally participative. That's my understanding, at any rate.

I have the following evidence:

  • many, many pages of emails with threads initiated by me and by her (about 50% each way).
  • about 100 photos of the two of us
  • phone logs showing me contacting her for almost every month since we met
  • Only recent phone logs that show her calling me (this month and next month). She would call and hang up, now she stays on the line a few minutes so we can log her contacting me.
  • A few months of her sending text messages to an email address that forwards to my phone (but no corresponding message content from me, no way I can get my hands on this)
  • Phone bills from my phone company that show me sending text messages to her for every month since we met (no content, unable to get this and also no way for me to get proof that she sent text messages to my phone)
  • Printouts from her phone for this month and next showing content of text messages she sent me and received from me
  • Actual photos of text messages I sent to her and received from her for this month and next (no other way to get this data from my lame old phone)
  • receipts showing things she bought for me and things I bought for her
  • items her relatives got for me (some cards, etc)
  • a few hotel receipts with both our names
  • a pair of domestic plane tickets with both our names
  • all travel-related documentation showing my trips to visit her
  • IM chat logs for some of last month, this month, and next month
  • Screenshots of webcam sessions for some of last month, this month, and next month
Once again, might be going overboard, but this sounds like quality proof to me. Edited by rsn

Yes, What he said.

You'll do fine Danny.. yes, VSC is trailing behind CSC recently, but you'll get the NOA2 soon enough and hopefully things will move very quickly for you from there.

We filed our I129F back in Sept and at this point we're hoping for a POE in late May or June, and that still depends on a quick and successful interview, so all you can do is be patient with the process. It could be worse - pity poor Sara (famous VJ alum) who is waiting for her NOA2 18+ months with no exit in sight....

Keep it strong, bro you'll be out soon enough

I think you're right on both scores - (a) it's quality proof (b ) it's a little (??) overdone

The former is what really counts. The latter can't hurt. If you sleep better at night killing your forest of trees, more power to ya!
