:innocent: Hi everyone,

I have some information for you guys, let start with

1.) I read on the embassy page here at VJ that the police clearance takes about a week. Still accurate?

**When I went there everyone was told to come back and get it next 2 weeks (10-14 days office hours) You can use NOA1,NOA2,letter from the consulate (copy) or whatever that can confirm to the police about your purpose to get the visa (for study, work, married)

In case of K1 and K3 the police will ask your fiancee about your copy of passport with your signature to prove it.

2.) Do you have to schedule your medical exam ahead of time, or can you just walk in? Do you have to wait days for results, or after you leave is it done? Do they give you something to give to the officer at the interview?

** For Bumrungrad You can walk in,but I would like to suggest you to make and appointment it s more convenience. We will serve patient who Do make an appointment first. And if your fiancee is a new there, she should call to open her account to get the patient number(we call "Hospital number" "/HN") don't worry it doesn't take too long just need 1.her name and family name correct with her passport 2. her date of birth 3.her phone number .Only tell staff that she would like to do med exam for US. visa normally the doctor schedule is Mon - Fri 07:00 - 16:00 hrs. and Sat - Sun 07:00 - 12:00 hrs.(but for this month on the 5,11 - 15 he cancel clinic because of holiday)Please call to confirm his schedule before coming. After making the appointment staff will confirm you about things required 1.Medical exam form from the embassy if you didn't get P3 yet just download and print from the website OR you can get it here we will charge you only 200 ฿ 2. Passport the original and one copy 3.her ID. card just the original one 4. One Photo size 1" or 1 1/2" 5.the record of her vaccine (if have)

** Pricing

- Med exam 2450 ฿

-Vaccine required TD, Measles, Mumps, Rubella = 2 shots 4 kinds = 1408 ฿

Total is 3858 ฿

but in case of your fiancee needs more vaccines.... (that why we need her vaccine record)

Chicken pox vaccine - Varilrix SC 0.5 mL

- Okavax SC 0.5 mL ..... same price 1630 ฿

Hepatitis B = HBvaxPRO (Adult) 10 mcg/1 mL IM = 723 ฿

HPV. = Cervarix 2530 (age 9-26 YO.) and if your fiancée have enough time (6 months) I suggest to buy the vaccine by package it cost 6800 ฿ more cheaper than get the second and third shot at the US.

any vaccine price if you want to know please let me know .

But if you want to save money you can go to the Saowabha Institute Rama4 to get vaccines there price much more cheaper then bring the record to show the doctor.

About the result you can get it in the same day if everything normal better to go before noon.

3.) On the embassy's website, it seems to suggest that unless you are the interviewee, you cannot even wait in the waiting area with your fiancee, but I seem to remember others saying they did in fact wait with their fiancee, but I can't remember exactly. Can someone comment on this?

** Here is a trick ……….. tell the guard that you want to contact the citizen section then when he let you get in just pretend to walk to that section because there are guards inside catch there eyes on you but don't worry citizen section is near the interviewing room there is a connecting door you can walk through to the interview room but you can not sit beside her.

4.) I have read that sometimes you need "packet 3" to show to the police to get your certificate, in addition to the NOA2, and a copy of my passport, and possibly a letter of intent from me. I cannot personally sign these yet. Is that ok? Also, why do you need to show them packet 3? Isn't packet 3 just a bunch of forms that you can download off the website anyway?

** You can use NOA1,NOA2,letter from the consulate (copy) or whatever that can confirm to the police about your purpose to get the visa (for study, work, married)

In case of K1 and K3 the police will ask your passport with your signature to prove it.

One thing, the police will ask your fiancée to exchange her card before get in do not give him her ID card because she need to use it inside she can give her driver's licence or employee ID card ect….

5.) When paying the $131 $ fee at post office make sure fiancee keeps receipt in safe place you will need at interview.

** New update for package 3 form the receipt is one of the check list so you need to put the original one in the package send back to the embassy please don't forget to make a copy to show him on the interview day .

6.) The completed medical papers are only good for 6 months. It is ok to do the medical portion before receiving packet 3. i used the same medical papers that DABOYZ just posted.

(Yeah this is what the embassy told me as well but seems like another girl on www.usvisa4thai.com kind fight with me about this, she said it is valid for 1 year which I don't think so. Because I think I better rely on what the embassy told me. )

**The medical report valid in 6 months mean the date you did the medical exam until your interview date.

The medical report valid in 12 months mean the date you did the medical exam until you contact the AOS stage in the US.

Thank you for your post. You (and others) have mentioned that my fiancee will be asked for my passport with my signature. Will a copy of my passport with a copy (scanned image) of my signature do? I'm not in Thailand with her right now.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

I'll probably do a color scan of my passport bio page, print it in color, sign it, then do a color scan of that. If I email the image to her and she prints it out in color, they might even think it's the original

Well that is what I understand as well about the madical report being valid for 6 months, from the date they make the report to the interview date. I just don't want others doing it too early in advance because they think the medical report is valid for one year from the report date to the interview date.

Does anyone know if I have to have phone bills and hotel receipts translated to English as well. It seems like a strange thing to translate, but you never know. Did anyone else do or not do this?

I never had anything translated except my marriage certificate. Everything we sent with our DS-230 was in Thai and we did not get an RFE for it. Our case is in the process of being completed, at least thats what they say. If you have something from a different country than Thailand or the U.S., then you need to have it translated.

We had the birth certificate translated and the single certificate translated, but that was it. The birth certificate you have to have translated for AOS, so you might as well do over there.

What's a "single certificate"?

The document that says she is free to marry, I forget the name of it, and am to lazy to look it up. It didn't necessarily need to be translated, but the attorney did it anyways. I think it is better to have them translated so the consular can read them rather then relying on the Thai staff. If they are un-helpful like the day we were there, then having the consular being able to read the documents helps.

Is this a required document for all, or just for those who have been married before?

Required for girls who have never been married. In the case of someone who has been married, they have a divorce decree to show they are no longer married.

We went to BKK to get our police clearance April 2. I asked specifically about whether they required the NOA2 or Pkg 3 cover letter. The answer I got was arai godai (whatever). I took some photos of the posters that illustrate the new process and posted them here.

#######! YMMV, Mai pen rai.

Thanks for this information, your photos and related comments are very helpful. I'm curious about your DCF effort. Don't you have to be considered a resident of Thailand to go the DCF route? How did you manage that? I've always wondered how that works in Thailand.

PM sent.
