Well, at least now this thread has finally gotten interesting!

Anyone wanna offer a comparison of Nana vs Cowboy?

There is a club in the basement of the Siam Square Novatel called CM2 (Siam Squared). My friends affectionately called it "The Black Hole." It has live bands, many farang men and many young Thai ladies. This one friend loved to bring guests from America there, just to show them the raunchiness of Bangkok. I went once and couldn't handle it. I love the cultural side of Thailand, as mentioned in the above post, but this part of it turns my stomach. When my father saw the beer bars in Patong beach, Phuket, he shook his head and said "Sad. I really feel for these girls."

A little known fact is that the international market is relatively small compared to the local one. One study reported that over 40% of Thai men frequent brothels on a monthly basis. At Chiang Mai Univeristy, for example freshmen boys all go together as a form of initiation. Men who can afford it take mai noi (mistresses), while many of those who cannot afford it go to the brothels. Even tiny towns far off the tourist trail have local services.

this sounds more like the teak door.com then a visa site

who has married a hooker if Daboyz didn't. Not all are bad right?

My fiancée is heading to Bangkok at this moment for her medical and police certificate. She's received my package as well as Packet 3, so we're hoping she can have it all mailed back in a week or so. From the Bangkok embassy's website, it seems like interviews are scheduled until the end of April, so I am guessing that we might be some time in May. That will work for me, since she will not be coming here until mid-July.

I'm getting very excited now.

this is too funny, so where did you meet?

I met her through her sisters husband. He was a British guy I used to hang out with. Unfortunately, the guy drank himself to death in Bangkok. He turned bright yellow from liver failure at Bumrumgrad and died.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

Hey all, just jumping in to update! We're still in AP at the embassy. I don't know what the holdup is, but I haven't given up hope lol. It blows cause I'm more than likely going to be deployed if and when she gets any news of this moving forward. I've sent at least one email per week to the embassy and I get the same scripted response with no real information whatsoever.

Y'all talkin about the dirtier places reminded me of when we got into bkk to get her medical done and we ended up somewhere near bumrungrad early in the morning looking for a hotel, lmao. That place was scores more raunchy than pattaya. I was embarrassed to walk through it. We ended up staying awake until the next morning when the same street looked like a closed up ghost town.

Good luck to you guys. I think we're roughly in similar stages of the process to you right now. She's already got the medical, police, and Affidavit of Support I-134. Our file was delivered by DHL to the embassy, so I expect we should get the Packet 3 in a matter of days, and like you, turn it back around quickly.

Where can you see that interviews are scheduled through April? I've looked all over the embassy site and can't see that. There's one link that offers "4 days" wait time for non-immigrant visas, but that specifically excludes K-1s. I was kinda hoping we'd get an interview in April. Based upon others who got their Packet3 in during Jan/Feb, interviews were being scheduled within just a few weeks.

My fiancée emailed the consulate carefully following the email instructions on their website at the very bottom of this page:

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/immigrant_vis...estions.html#14

They replied in less than 15 hours and confirmed that the petition had been received and Packet 3 would be sent out shortly. It arrived about 3 days later.

The appointment schedule can be found here:
