Taking blood OUT for a titer test requires a needle in longer than an MMR shot. Plus if the titers are low, you are going to have to go back for more shots later (unless they run the test on the spot).

Finally, titer tests can be pricey here... I'm sure they cost less in Thailand, but are they still probably more expensive than a shot.

Sheeesh.... It's just an option.

It may not be the right option for others or your own loved one, but it's still a valid option.

His titers, extra bloodwork, two immunizations, and medical exam ended up being around 500 baht less than a routine medical with MMR, varicella, and Td immunizations given at Bumrungrad. The physician even called me herself to tell me the results.

It may not be worth it to you. I'm a nurse; I now have much more valuable information than just which vaccines my husband has previously received. We now also have bloodwork for a doctor here to use as a baseline. No one thinks to bring past medical history with them when moving to a new country. We're happy with it and happy to share it with other VJers who may be going through the same thing.

I guess I can forgive the Lakers things..................

Well, I am from So Cal and spent most of my life there and was and still am an LA Kings fan. So I automatically root for the Lakers even though I

hardly ever watch a game!! Give me hockey anytime!!! Teaw already knows I will watch games on TV and it will be fun to see how she reacts when I

take her to a Carolina Hurricanes game.

My wife fell in love with American Football. She picked up the concept of the game and the rules in less than 1 season. She likes college ball the most, took her to a few SC Games and we tailgated on campus. She had a blast!!

I'm from HB, where in SoCal you from?

Husby and I have agreed that he can be as loud as he wants for "football" games and I will do the same for my Spurs. I suspect he's secretly happy we're apart for playoffs.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

Gee, so this means we can expect more delays? I am not going to sit here waiting forever for them to get through the AP. If they won't answer email inquiries for a status update and then it hits 90-120 days, I will walk across the street and have a nice chat with my congressman. There is no reason, if they can take the time to read everything before an interview and they ask for more proof of relationship, that they can't sit their asses down and read what extra stuff you provide instead of sitting on it for months!!! Sound like I am a little testy today? You got it!!!!

SqdnGuns, I grew up in Ventura County....Port Hueneme to be exact, then lived in Oxnard until 2000.

I just noticed on the embassy website that they host a web chat. Anyone know what dates and times they hold this? I'd love to give them a little grief and try to get some answers. I was able to download and read a transcript of one from March 30th. It doesn't look like they are online

too awfully long so I am sure there are a lot of questions left unanswered.

Well, a K-1 Visa is considered non-immigrant until the marriage occurs..........

I really hope it doesn't affect it. K1 visa is an Immigrant Visa and the announcement specifically says NON-IMMIGRANT (Tourists VISA). I will know soon because we mailed our Packet 3 yesterday. And the fact that the announcement is listed under the non-immigrant section and not the immigrant section gives me hope.

Technically K visas are non-immigrant visas, with immigrant intent. CR-1/IR-1 are true immigrant visas.

Then why don't they post the announcement under the K1 visa section? Like I said, I will let you know if we don't get the appointment by next Wednesday. Will attempt to curb my enthusiasm until then.

Pardon?

Sending a smily faces on this specific thread gives the impression that you are taking enjoyment in this. Remember back when you were submitting your visa and if you appreciated when it seemed like other people are taking enjoyment in potential delays. If that wasn't the intent, then I apologize.
