If my wife caught me in a red shirt, I would never hear the end of it.

Yeah she didn't want to go down there. I don't think she really cares about any of that red/yellow stuff anyway. She just says I'm Thai, I'm no color shirt.

I have two red polo shirts. I never pack them when I am going to Thailand. I need to avoid the accidental problems it could cause. I do not own a yellow polo shirt. If people ask me, I tell them I am a green shirt. LOL

It leaves them puzzled for a while.

Just get the tax transcripts from the IRS for the last 3 years. That's all you'll need as long as you are over the limit. They'll even fax them to you.

You don't need bank statements or bank letters or any other mention of assets as long as your income is sufficient.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

The more information the better. It can only strengthening your position. I did 3 years of tax returns w/W2's, a letter from my employer, and 3 months of bank statements.

I had much much more then sufficient income.

Sawasdee Krap everyone! Just recieved NOA2 on April 20th. Me and Pornnaphat are working on the packet 3. She has her police certificate and other important documents translated to English. I hope this mess right now clears up. My heart goes out to everyone that is being affected by the current political situation. I really hope this does not interfere with her interview. Can anyone tell me how long we can expect to get an appointment after we send in the packet 3. I am trying to time my vacation. I am US Military so I have to put my vacation in early.

Take a look at the timelines, it should give you a good indication of when they will schedule the interview.

Hello Everyone -

I finally received my NOA2 - of course on the very last day of the 5 month "don't call us" period of time. I did not get an email notice that it was approved yesterday. I was actually looking up my case number so I could call them today and ask for status when, to my chagrin (while I was literally dialing options into the customer service line), I noticed that it said approved (I did get an approval text on my cell a couple hours later). Needless to say I was full of joy at the end of what has been a difficult waiting period.

The only problem now is that I told Mimi to wait at least until we got our NOA2 before she went to get her medical and police reports in Bangkok and of course now all hell has broken loose right by the hospital and police station. I can only hope the Red Shirts go home peacefully or the police crack down without hurting anyone and make them go home so it is safe for people in Bangkok again. In what was the first real violence today bombs went off on the Sky Train or near the Sky train killing some Yellow Shirt protesters who were telling the Red Shirts to go home.

Does anyone know if the US Embassy is still open or if they closed their doors due to the insanity?

Mike

Not for this--that would take a civil war. There isn't even a travel warning yet. (There was a short term advisory, though.)

Both unlikely. I think that the best you can hope for is that whatever happens, it happens quickly.

The Royal Thai Police Station is near Siam Paragon and the upscale shopping area I believe. I think that area has now become safer. I hope so, my fiancee is going to the Police Station today.

The handgrenades were shot from a train track so I think they were shot from the BTS to the ground. The attacks were in the Silom area which is the Financial District for Bangkok. Bumrungrad is at Suk - Soi 3, which I believe is OK. So maybe that will also be a good option. I do not know where BNH is if that is where your fiancee scheduled her medical.

Good luck and I hope safe travel through Bangkok for ALL.

Embassy is probably still opened. This isn't gonna end pretty. They closed all the BTS stations from Queen Sirikit all the way down there. Best bet, take a taxi. Wittayu (Embassy) is VERY close to this mess (Silom and Ratchadamri). At some point they will protect their employees and tell them to stay home. It's not even clear who is running this on the govt. side. Anupong or Abhisit. Very unstable, and these red guys seem to be ready to go to the mat. Now the Yellows are saying they're gonna show up.

Not good.
