I also have a concern about this (proof of relationship) as my fiancee is not much on writing emails. They are short and business-like when she does write them. But I call her every morning. I have photos with her family from my second visit. I hope my telephone bill will lend some support. I also bought Audy the engagement ring on this last trip this month (March) and we kept the receipt from a gold shop in MBK. I also bought her more engagement jewelry which is shown on the receipt. Yes, I paid "thong mhand." We chat on weekends so I have those logs. I have sent her flowers once. We sent electronic greeting cards on Valentine's day. She has enrolled in English classes since we engaged to improve her English, etc... I am not sure if this is enough.

You want to make sure the phone bills show communication going both ways. When we went through they made us come back and show that she calls me. I basically had to extract all my miss call information off of my cell phone, and show that she was calling me. She would call and hang up (since it was free), and then I would call back at on the calling card.

I do not believe. Why would they do this. We have a set time when I call her every day. She does not need to call me separately during the day.

Why is this so difficult.

I'm not sure who is working there now, but when my wife interviewed they wanted pictures. They didn't care about phone bills. See my interview experience here:

It took 3 tries to get the visa. She went in alone on Feb 23, 2009. They gave her 221g. They wanted more proof, and said that more I-864 was below the guidelines for 2007, since I owed the IRS 10k. I fixed the I-864 issue by sending my 2008 IRS returns with W-2s and 1099s which showed me to be well above the limit. I sill haven't figured out how they found about this, or why NVC didn't deny me at that stage. Went back in March 2 with the updated tax returns and more proof. The accepted the tax return, but denied her again. We want to see more photos! Ok then 2 disposable cameras, photos together all over Bangkok, off to the 1 hour photo shop. Went back in AGAIN on March 3 with these photos. Visa approved, come back tomorrow to pick it up.

I lived with my wife in Bangkok for 2 years. I showed them utility bills with both our names, at the same address in Bangkok. I also showed them two passports with about 100 entry stamps into Thailand. I guess the issue was that I only proved to them that I lived in Thailand, not that I lived with her. So next time you are together, go crazy with the camera.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

They look at the packet of evidence before they call them up to the window.

So much for the Paper Reduction Act!! They should allow submission of all the supporting paper on CD or DVD and save all that paper and the cost of mailing it or printing it. Wouldn't that be so nice?

Yeah they take the package when the applicant gets there and discuss it in the interview later.

This might be why it seems that the quickest cases are the first ones. If you are called up in the first hour, I'm guessing they have already decided what is going to happen. In other words, you are either an easy YES or an easy NO.

I just got back from two weeks in Thailand to visit Audy. We took pictures in Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Chiang Mai and at the Lampang Elephant Conservation Center. We only have a few photos from our first visit since we were concentrating on each other and not the stupid camera. So we have many pictures over two visits.

I have over 300 photos taken by relatives and friends from several cameras of the Formal Engagement Ceremony but I decided not to use any of those. Audy RENTED a classic white American Style wedding dress for the Engagement ceremony. I am worried about showing those three hundred photos at the interview as I have already asked here on VJ about that raising a red flag that we got married, which we didn't.

Audy is really upset that I do not want her to use the photos. We had a SMALL argument over this. :crying:

Are you sure she's Thai? :D I don't think I will ever be elevated to the level of my wife's cameras... and yeah, she usually carries two. (Don't ask why, because I have no idea.)

Mine doesn't ever remember to take her camera but I always have mine and I take tons of pics. Problem is when it's just us two out and about it's not always easy to get a pic of us together and not always convenient to ask someone to do it for you.

Small argument, huh? Since when do most Thai ladies not get psycho mad? The ex has a temper that drove me away. Teaw is the most laid back woman I have ever known. NEVER gets mad at me and when I get upset about something she

just stays calm and I just can't stay mad more than a few minutes. It sure is a nice change!!!

I included pictures from my engagement ceremony, and it did not cause any problems. However, it was a very informal formal engagement ceremony.

Oh, I have plenty of one handed pics of us but when you take those they are usually too close to show the background that you may want to include in it. But when Teaw had her first interview on 3-24 there were three people there, two faranga...man and lady...and a Thai lady who was the interpreter. They asked her why she could not answer most of the questions in English since she apparently could type English fairly well and asked her who typed her emails for her. Well, gee, folks, I have talked online to many Thais who can type English much better than they can speak it. I think they are just not busy enough this time of year. She talked to them for 45 min. and they still wanted more evidence of relationship. She goes back Monday with a ton more stuff for them and hopefully they will be satisfied with it. It's been a pain for her to get 3 months of phone records

from AIS, which is as far back as they will go.

You need to learn to take one handed pix of yourselves. We travel a lot and that's one reason we have so many pix.

I see you're in Bradenton, I'm in Sarasota. Wife and son are currently back home visiting.
