Kind of a weird request. Does anyone know how to get a police report for a farang? Canada is asking me for this. They are also asking me for state police reports from everywhere I have lived in the US. Colorado, Texas, and Michigan. I have no idea how to get those either.

You emigrating to Canada?

If you want a police report from Thailand, someone's probably going to have to pick it up in person at the same police station that your fiancee visited. It's hard to get anything by mail from Thailand. (My wife will be in BKK in a week or so... if we can help let me know.)

For the US, see here:

I think we can self police ourselves on this thread. Whoever felt offended, I apologize. I'll go one step further and apologize for Robert. He's getting mean in his old age.

I think the more correct version would be "doesn't HAVE to leave". I digress.

And you would be wrong. Feel free to take this to your local English teacher.

I'm curious. What is it about you that makes you so much better than everybody else?

One might ask you the same question. How is it that a self-proclaimed Christian switches so quickly from self-righteous moralizing about someone else's actions to "We can't all be like you and have such a gay looking goatee" within three posts? (Actually, I was relieved when I reread this, because at first I thought Robert said "grey looking goatee" and that it may be time for a dye job..."whew" dodged that bullet!)

FYI, I teach in Asia every summer, hence the reason I have met so many Asian people. (Not that I would defame anyone that may have met their spouse via other means.)

I'm way past school, or teachers for that matter. Those that can; do. Those that can't; teach.

A "self-proclaimed Christian"?!!! Me?!!! Dude, you don't have a clue!!! That is just too funny!

He was probably mixing me up with you BrotherRoi :innocent::lol:

AAm and I are still sitting on our removal of conditions. We sent it in 3 months ago to VSC...got our NOA1 a few weeks later...and just crickets since then...no notice for biometrics yet... I may have to give them a call...

Daboyz...whats up with you going up to Detroit (saw it on linkedin brother) and now asking about Canada info? You migrating north for the winter? You know as well as I do that your wife will never be able to handle a MI winter, much less a Canada winter! AAm's first winter in MI almost killed her, seriously...pneumonia and in the hospital for a week. Its a bit more mild over here near DC now...and she's built up a bit of immunity...

Peace to Sawadees!

That's what I was thinking Brother Mark!:lol:

Sorry to hear that your ROC isn't going faster. It certainly was the longest step in the process for us, and for Sister Anya too. (Almost 1 year each! )

Hang in there Brother! :star:

Brother Roi and Sister Anya,

No joke? It took the full year for you guys? :crying:

I guess I could look at your timelines...but...you know...I'm lazy and all.

So I suppose that 3 months of waiting for the Biometrics isn't too bad? Anyways...no rush...as long as its done before her extension expires. Then, without a doubt, she'll pull a Chutima on me and want to file for naturalization and I'll be back in the grinder again. But, anyways, Roi & Anya...you give us hope!

Peace - Brother Mark

I'll give you a better hope, my friends who did the ROC about 6 months after me got there 10 years in about 6-7 months... I was so jealous! but no actually, they sill have to wait the same amount of time to start their USC process so having 10 yrs GC in 6 months or a year doesnt really matter hehe (well, for me anyway)

K-1 = 4 months

AOS = 5 months

I-751 = almost one year

Ya...I agree with you Sister Anya. As long as she gets her 10 year GC before her extension expires then we're fine, especially considering that she'll want to go for naturalization also.

I just wish we'd get the Biometrics letter because that is all that we really have left to do for the process of the 10 yr GC. I really don't think we'll have an interview...but...who knows...

Peace to you dear and congrats again on completing your process!

I am glad we are not going to have to go through the Remove Conditions process. We got a 10year on our first go, on suggestions from everyone here, I made an infopass appointment and verified it is a valid 10 year and she is not a conditional resident. We got lucky.

Ya, no joke!

We just got AAm's new Driver's License, since it also expired when her 2 year GC expired...but of course her new DL is only good for one year, which is the length of her extension, and then we'll have to go get another DL...so lucky Aaron missed all that mess too!

Ha! now I'm feeling lucky too, I got my DL while I was an Au Pair.. I got it for 6 years - got it just before they changed the rules!!! so when I came back, my DL was still active, I just need to change my last name :) I dont have to extend it till next year..

I'm wondering if Aaron got his GC approved after being married for 2 years? that happened to my friend, some how they moved a lot and never got the interview until after 2 years they've been married, so they got 10 years GC.

Nope, we got married in the US at the end of Feb and then filed AOS, she got her 10 yr on 7/27.
