Gee, I thought they were ALREADY tight...

Just a little "nip & tuck"

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but looking at your time line, how did your wife feel about you taking a yearly trip to Thailand to see this girl? You might want to stop advertising your time line. Just a guess.

MANY people separate, but do not finalize their divorce for YEARS for any number of reasons that are certainly not my business.

Yeah not my business of course, but I was just curious. People post all kinds of personal things here, I was just looking for some clarification. Doesn't affect my life, so I really don't care.

I knew a couple that was separated but still living in the same house for personal reasons--the guy's wife was dating one of his friends. He had no problem with it at all.

So... did HYENA get married? His 90 days are up.

Yes.

He did find a nursing job a few weeks ago.

There is certainly no legal issue.

I would contend that there is not a moral issue either.

There is probably a Christian issue.

Adultery IS a legal issue, though now days it is not cause for a divorce. Now days, the primary reason for divorce is when the marriage is “irretrievably broken”. Being “separated” means living in two different domiciles, NOT living together. A divorce doesn’t, or shouldn’t, take 5 years to accomplish, as is the case with thongd4me, which he clearly shows in his timeline. Anytime an individual who is legally married has sex with another person; that is adultery, plain and simple. This has NOTHING to do with being a “Christian”. It has to do with both statutory laws and religious laws. There is a reason why certain States require that a husband and wife live apart during their divorce proceedings, which then classifies them as being legally “separated”. Legalities aside, any person involved in a divorce is in no way emotionally available to get involved in another relationship, and I don’t know many women who would have anything to do with a man, who is “separated”, as they know what will be the potential outcome. As for men, they don’t think with the proper brain in these cases and don’t have a problem going after a woman who is “separated”.

Getting involved with another person, while in the midst of a divorce, shows a total lack of moral character and judgment, given that the individual is not emotionally available, and statistically tends to end up in yet another failed relationship. This is known as a “rebound relationship”. An individual should not be looking for another partner before they have terminated their current relationship, resolved all their issues, and is ready for another relationship. These facts are well documented.

The fact that thongd4me was entering into a relationship with not just another woman, but a married woman, does not show good judgment. The fact that he is trading one Asian woman in for another Asian woman, shows both insecurity and an obsession for Asian women on his part. Additionally, the fact that he constantly posts about his “ex-wife”, shows that he still has issues that he needs to deal with before he is fully capable of entering into a healthy relationship.

Though I don’t believe this is a proper topic for this thread, the topic was brought up, and I felt compelled to respond.

New topic .. new question ... hoping somebody can help me out here...

What is yogurt milk ? ... and what do they call it in America?

On has been looking for this, but I have no idea what she's talking about. (not buttermilk, tried that. nope)

Most of the drinking yogurts here are not like the ones in Thailand. She's probably talking about Yakult.

Ask her if this is what she wants: นมเเปรี้ยวยาคูลท์

If so, it's hard to find it here, though you might be able to get it in an Asian grocery store.

http://www.yakult.co.jp/

If not, go to Walmart and find "Bio Salud!" by El Viajero. It's as close are you can get.

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...uct_id=10402773

Or you could actually ask someone who has a wife that drinks those kind of drinks, and the answer would be "Dannon"

You can either get Dannon Activia or Dannon Light and Fit. Either one will do the trick, and you don't have to go any place special to buy them.

So in the excruciating count down to interview time, my fiancee is obsessing about all the possible things that can go wrong in the interview and have the visa denied. I don't recall seeing anyone denied from the Bangkok embassy for a K-1 and post about it here. Anyone know of anyone denied and why?

Most people are eventually approved. Bangkok is better than many other places, that's for sure. But if you haven't seen any denials, then I think you probably didn't go back far enough. There are lots that have not been approved on the first try. Many of those got a visa on the second try. I think the most common reason was that the embassy did not believe the relationship was real.

From what I can tell, the more reasons the beneficiary has NOT to leave Thailand, the more likely the visa is to be granted. For example:

Things like this tend to result in a favorable decision on the first try:

has a good job

owns property in Thailand

has money

has a college education

speaks English fluently

is from Bangkok

long relationships

Things like this tend to cause more scrutiny:

not enough photos of you together in different places at widely different times

does not speak English well (especially if you do not speak Thai)

no high school education

no job/money

is from the Northeast

short relationships

ever worked in a bar

I think the more correct version would be "doesn't HAVE to leave". I digress.

I'm curious. What is it about you that makes you so much better than everybody else? You have talked about how much money you spent for your Sin Sot, even pointing out that you posted a picture of it on Wikipedia, and how you are a professor, and how you always seem to act like you are better than everyone else! Do you think you are the only one on here that has a college degree and makes good money? Have you ever considered that some people are as educated and wealthy as you but don't feel the need to disclose this type of personal information on a public website? The purpose of this web site is to help others going through the immigration process; not talk about how good they are, which obviously seems to be your thing. The fact that you came up with your two lists shows how arrogant and unsympathetic you are to others going through this process. People here don't need to know how much money you paid for your Sin Sot, because all it does is make it harder on those who don't have that kind of money to throw around. Using vocabulary that most people never use in day to day conversations doesn't make you look smarter, it makes you look smug. If you can't offer advice that will help the average person going through this process succeed, then you need to find a web site that only caters to the rich, educated, and egotistical. (Notice I didn't use the adjective "famous", because you are certainly not that.) You only make people wonder; If he is as educated and wealthy as he profess', why is it he had to go to Thailand to find a bride? There are many of us here who were already working and traveling overseas when we met our fiancées, not stalking them on the internet. Which one are you? Please don't assume that all of us on here are poor, old, uneducated, fat, bald, ugly Americans that can't find anything better. We can't all be like you and have such a gay looking goatee; however, we can surpass your education and income level, but chose not to flaunt it in other people's faces.

Bwahahahaha!!

My 2 cents:

Robert, dude, c'mon, you need to chill. ALL of us here have enough in common to get along better than you seem to want.

You DO and have contributed a lot to this board and thread -- BUT you come off as being intolerant, unlikable and uncool too often to be criticizing someone as relatively inoffensive as Toma1 (or Hyena, for that matter) in such harsh terms. It's hypocritical and smacks of plain old insecurity, ya crotchety old so and so.

When Toma1 says something lame (and this does happen, haha), don't you think the better response is to gently poke fun at him (the way Daboyz does)? Look, you're aren't gonna actually fight anyone on the internets, man. What WILL happen is your negativity will drive people away from this VERY worthwhile board. You don't want that to happen, do you? I know I don't.

Peace.

Erich

Hi all, I am just thinking ahead here. Our 129F is still at CSC but we should be approved I am hoping in Dec. I am trying to make sure our K1 visa is done by May when I come. I have downloaded all the docs from the embassy website and will be compleating them in the next month so they are ready to go. My question is can you turn in your packet 3 before they mail it to you? I can track my app from NVC to the Bangkok embassy and download al the forms before so after the embassy has it can I just send in a completed packet 3 or should I wait for the embassy to mail it to us and then send it in? One more quick ? how long from the time you turn in packet 3 and 4 till the interview? I see different embassy have different times from a few weeks to 5 months so does anyone know how long Bangkok is running now? Thanks for all the help everyone

Hi BC75,

Yes, you can send in Packet 3 stuff as soon as you have your case # and are sure that the embassy has your case. I'll explain how I know this later tonight when I'm not so pressed for time. (I'm actually on my way to the post office to send my baby the I-134 and other doc's she needs to send in packet 3 for us!)

Re: the wait times between sending in packet 3 and your interview date, the most current info I have is not so great. Per usvisa4thai, One woman sent in her packet on November 20 and her interview was scheduled for December 17. This really sucks because earlier in the month people were getting their interviews only 10 or so days after sending in packet 3. I'm still holding out hope that my fiancée gets her interview and visa in time to make it here by Christmas, though.

Good luck and thanks to all that have contributed to this excellent thread!!

Erich

Sorry for doing this the lazy way, but the following email thread should explain why it's ok to send in packet 3 stuff before receiving packet 3 in the mail (provided you have the case # and you're sure the embassy has received your case.):

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have 2 questions that I hope you can answer.

1. Can you please tell me whether you have received our K-1 fiancée visa case/application from the National Visa Center?

Please note that we received our case number, BNK 2009 xxx xxx, after speaking with USCIS on the phone.

2. If the answer to the preceding question is "yes", can we send in the current (Rev. May-09) packet 3 checklist and required documents (all obtained from your website) even though we have not yet received packet 3?

Like almost every couple seeking a K-1 visa, we want to be together as soon as humanly possible.

Thank you for your time.

We hope to hear from you soon.

In order to schedule an interview appointment, the IV Unit has to receive these following documents from the applicant through the mail.

DS-230 Part I

Signed checklist

2 frontal photographs

a photocopy of the applicant’s passport photo page

and photocopies of all required application documents listed in the Packet 3 checklist.

This is to make sure that the applicant will have all application documents on the interview day. Please do not mail any original official documents, such as the original birth certificate, original passport to the IV Unit by mail as the documents can be lost in the mail. For medical examination result, the applicant can submit in person on the interview day.

Hey I take exception to that! I'm poor, old, and fat! I still have my hair though, what's left of it anyway after the wife bought some clippers. I figure I'll stick with her for awhile and then go back to BKK and trade her in for a newer model. J/K of course.

There is so much wrong here that it is difficult to address it all, however:

1. Adultery is not even on the books in 28 states, and it is unenforceable in the rest due to US Supreme Court decisions regarding privacy. It is not a legal "issue," though it may be on the books where an individual lives. Laws against oral sex are still on the books in many states, though no one would seriously argue that they are a "legal issue".

2. Being separated does not necessarily mean living in two separate domiciles. You seem to have said that because you believed it and didn't bother to look it up. Some states even allow a couple to be legally separated or divorced while living in the same house. It's actually fairly common when separations are not acrimonious.

3. I didn't say that it wasn't adultery. I said that it was not a legal issue, and it isn't.

4. Many people have had very "clean" divorces that were mutually agreed upon. One couple I know stayed together until their child graduated rather than screw up her last year in school. Any emotional involvement in the marriage was long gone well before the paperwork was signed. A person who is still emotionally attached to a previous relationship probably should not be getting involved in another relationship, however whether that emotional attachment still exists is not for you to determine.

You are confusing facts and opinions. You have one fact in the above paragraph, "statistically tends to end up in yet another failed relationship." The rest is your opinion, stated as fact. As I have said, I know cases in which the above is not true.

...does not show good judgment

...shows both insecurity and an obsession

...he constantly posts

...he still has issues

A very full paragraph indeed. Do you really need to ask me why any specific individual doesn't come to this site anymore?

Or you could actually ask someone who has a wife that drinks those kind of drinks, and the answer would be "Dannon"

You can either get Dannon Activia or Dannon Light and Fit. Either one will do the trick, and you don't have to go any place special to buy them.

My wife says Dannon is too creamy. YMMV.

I guess I'm old fashioned. The guy had a wife here and took multiple trips to Thailand over a period of many years. I'm sure he was faithful to his wife on all of those trips. I wont get in the legalities of it, but it seems like a really bad thing to do.

And you would be wrong. Feel free to take this to your local English teacher.

I'm curious. What is it about you that makes you so much better than everybody else?

One might ask you the same question. How is it that a self-proclaimed Christian switches so quickly from self-righteous moralizing about someone else's actions to "We can't all be like you and have such a gay looking goatee" within three posts? (Actually, I was relieved when I reread this, because at first I thought Robert said "grey looking goatee" and that it may be time for a dye job..."whew" dodged that bullet!)

FYI, I teach in Asia every summer, hence the reason I have met so many Asian people. (Not that I would defame anyone that may have met their spouse via other means.)
