1) My Thai fiance did her own birth certificate translation for the I-129F... was this a bad idea? Who should we get to do translations in the future?

...

I do not see in the instructions for I-129F or the G325-A, the requirement to submit the birth certificate for the Thai (alien) fiancee. Is this something that should be submitted with the I-129F anyway, or maybe the question was really being asked about documents submitted to the US Embassy in Bangkok for the K-1 interview ?

You need the Thai BC for the K-1 interview, but it doesn't need to be translated at that time. You will however, need a translated copy for your AOS application.

Well Dave the easiest way to explain it is this... yellow shirts were originally simply monarch loyalist, myself included. It was just a way to show support to the king. But really it all boils down to Sondhi (old Thaksin friend who ended up on the outs) and Thaksin fighting a proxy war against each other over money. The original red shirts were Thaksin loyalist who basically were upcountry folk who appreciated all he had done for them. Port coup you had a sleuth of business owners, academics, etc join with the red shirts simply because 1. coups are not cool 2.. stability should be the #1 consideration above all else.

Its all BS anyway and youre not missing much.

Thanks!

Being neutral does not mean refusing

to stand when the King's anthem is played in a cinema. I'm just going with

the flow.

Walk a fine line here sunshine. I doubt anyone would take the view of disposing the king. Look at the countries nearby. Laos, Cambodia, Burma. They are all in disarray. You'll never be a Thai citizen. I would love to be in that movie theater when you don't stand. I would be the first one to put my foot in you're a$$. You have no idea what that man did for Thailand. I'll leave at that. Don't ever.. ever talk bad about the King here.

Huh?? I think you've misread something. I added some hi-lighting for you...

Look because you bought a few condos or what ever over there. You don't have a clue. I'm real tired of your fake a$$ Thailand. Go up country and get back to me.

What the hell is wrong with you?

First, you've confused me with someone else.

Second, you didn't even read his post correctly.

Amen.

My position is 180 degrees different from my friend who is against the monarchy.

I have no idea how this rocket scientist interpreted it as my opinion as being the same.

I guess going with the flow means for him taking the opposite position from whatever

he imagines mine to be. Arguing with that is like arguing with a drunk or Mohmmar

Khadaffi. Khadaffi may make more sense, but the point is you can't change his opinion.

Some farangs have obtained Thai citizenshp, but that was never my intent.

My position is just to steer clear of politics and be respectful where respect is due.

I won't attempt to change his diapers, I'll just put him on ignore.

And if I may hijack the thread back to K-1.... just got our interview email from the Bangkok embassy for Nov 12 8:00am! Yay! I was hoping for the 7-10 day time from sending packet 3 I've seen recently but after only 55 days NOA1 to NOA2, we're still way ahead I think.

Do all the letters say 8am and that is no indication of how long you will wait?

A few days earlier and she could have spend a few days in San Francisco before we went home, but instead she'll get a few days in Boston before coming to Texas. Gonna need to get her some warm clothes....

Su's interview was a couple of weeks ago, it had a 7:30 am appointment time. If I remember correctly she was the second interview of the day, and she was out of the building within 90 minutes. I posted in this thread, and gave an embassy review about this if you're interested. Congratulations, this part is almost over.

Dave,

We found Old Navy and Gap women's wool sweaters at Chatuchak near the clock tower. 59 bath apiece (that's less than $2). Anyone headed to the U.S. in the next 6 months should check it out.

Yep, I read your review and sent it to my fiancee.. thanks for listing the questions! You got the actual visa 2 days after the interview?

Thanks! I let her know. That insanely cheap.

I think she had her interview on Thursday morning, and she was able to pick up her passport on the next Tuesday. So 4 days but that includes the weekend.

Yes, Tich's interview is a Thursday morning as well, so Tuesday would be 3 business days. Tuesday evening would be most convenient time for her to fly out but it's cutting it awfully close.
