Well but some people said the embassy documents are outdated online for some reason? are you sure that link is up to date?

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/immigrant_vis...structions.html

I had this one, which looks cleaner and more simplified but in english only(outdated?)

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas/packets.html

There's no Thai in that link. It is kinda odd. I'm fairly confident that your SO will get instructions in Thai as well as English.

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

We finally got here! 28 hours...POE was san fransisco; took a whopping 3 minutes. He kept the brown packet (not sure if they were supposed to or not)...they didn't even check our bags (airport destroyed 2 though...one was completely opened when it came on the carousel...her pills were gone so we just got back from the health department. I understand we need to wait 2 weeks for apply for the SS card then get marriage license, etc then AOS?

Hope everyone's doing well! I'm still not at 100% piggy flu is a nasty thing to get!

Congrats on making back. I was wondering when you were arriving. You may not need the SSN to get the Marriage License. We didn't we got married, I filed AOS, and then went a few weeks later and got her SSN. When we went to our AOS interview, the interviewer asked if we got our SSN yet, I said yes, handed him the card, he wrote it down and that was it. I mainly did it that way, cause she was changing her name, and I didn't want to change it after we got married with SS, and then also it would have delayed our sending of AOS for a month.

I didnt get my NOA1 yet, but I did see that my check was cashed on the 12th and a WAC number was on the back. (they scan checks now) so I can view online.

I am more psyched out about very few photos together and never met her family despite we have met a lot in Bangkok (her parents live in the provinces) That should be an ok excuse? no time to go to provinces? :P

Well when we get interview, I will book a trip back to see her that week and try to rush some new photos, maybe a few studio shots as well, and regular ones and print them out in time for

the interview plus have her take my passports and I-134 junk

my I-134 is already complete with tax returns back to 2006 and all W2s as well as employee letter, but have to put in the more recent pay checks around that time.

I have been trying to compile my cell phone records, I have printed out my bills up to May, can only go that far, do you think they need years and years of cell phone data?

I have the incoming and outgoing text message records up to May and now am printing each bill I get toward the interview which shows times and messages sent/received.

no voice calls anyway cause I am deaf.

We rarely email each other, (she really doesnt email) and cause she is online everyday and we chat on MSN and use webcam once in a while, but my MSN does not archive chats. I am using windows live messenger unofficially on XP 64bit. I had to modify the program to get it working.

the only thing I am doing is taking desktop screenshots of our video calls.

So the following evidence I most likely will have is just

CELL PHONE BILLS that SHOW THE TEXT LOGS since May

SHE WILL HAVE MY PASSPORTS ON HAND

Will this be enough?

OK...I'll take this to heart.... So you're suggesting 1. Marry (name change comes with that?) 2. File AOS, 3. SSN then AOS interview (with ssn card by then)?

I have NO IDEA where to get married! I was going to at this current house (long story but I own it with my EX GF but economy and a builder that stole 200k has us stuck till court is done and we get money back....then we can leave!

Second...my EX wife suggested we marry at her house (stop laughing)! We do make better friends than spouses and my fiancee gets along (since we've got kids, why fight? She's happily remarried and happy for my Thai sweetie and I).... off handed it's weird....I don't like the EX & her BF being here (it's a big house tho-we both thought we'd be done with court and economy would let us sell by now...so stuck for now) so not sure if a JP wedding is better or a small park....

Not sure whether to do Buddhist (find a monk here) or Christian? Decisions decisions (she doesn't care at all...can't dig an answer from her)! We've got traditional Thai dress for her, me and our kids for the ceremony but that's all the planning we've done. $ and no job for me means we gotta be careful.

Any suggestions? I liked the cave wedding idea (no caves here...but it's original)....... I'm all ears!

Well that is how we did it. Once your married you have the marriage certificate to prove the name change (if she is planning on changing her name).

We just went to the civil marriages office and got married (basically the court house), I figured our real wedding was in Thailand, and this was just a piece of paper here. I figured no sense in spending a bunch of money.

We did the three step process. Got the SSC after two weeks, got married, changed the name, and then after AOS approved, got SSC without the "Not eligible to work without proper document" stamp on it.

We did not wait for the SSC after the name change to submit AOS paperwork, because they only care about the number (SSN), which will NOT change, no matter what the last name is. They do ask for a SSN on the I-485, but you don't have to send a copy of it.

Sawasdee!

I have not posted here in a while. I am back active, (at least once a week now), on this board as we are going through the I-751 process now. I've had to deal with a lot of strange issues throughtout this process such as assisting my wife in getting a prior marriage to a man in Singapore anulled and getting approval from Amphur for my step-daughter to accompany my wife, (then fiance), to the US.

I don't have time to read through all the posts here, but if I can be of assistance to anyone who's having similar problems, feel free to drop me a note.

TucsonBill

TucsonBill!

Welcome back to VJ. You and I went through the process(es) of K1 and AOS at about the same time. I think you were about a month ahead of me.

Yep, today I am also working on AAm's I751 for removal of conditions...fun stuff eh? I'll be sending it off at the end of this month.

If you ever get a chance, drop a line and let me know how you're life has been going for the past 2 years. I'd love to catch up on your VJ success story! As for AAm and I, we've moved out of the Detroit area and now live near DC. I took a new job, and its been a HUGE breath of fresh air out here, great move for both AAm and I. AAm has been working in the QC department of FedEx for almost a year now. She is absolutely loving this job as FedEx is the first American company she has worked for...quite and experience for her!

We've also started the I-130 for AAm's daughter (May). We expect that she'll be here around the end of the year or so. That is going very well. May is 14 now, and has really been studying English hard for the past 2 years that AAm has been in the USA. She's quite fluent now! Very impressive. It will be great to have her with us soon.

We just bought a house, and life is for us has turned out more wonderful that we ever could have expected! I hope your story is great as well!!!

Peace,

MarkNAAm

Will this be enough?

There's no way to know. The more details the better.

I sent a handful of photos, one or two screen shots of my call logs with Vonage, and put 10-15 emails in a folder in my mail program, and send them a screen shot so they could see the time stamps and to/from, but not the actual messages. And a few ticket stubs from when we flew to Samui and Penang.

That was enough. It all comes down to the individual examiner and whether they get the feeling something funny is going on. My guess is the shorter the relationship, the more evidence you'll need. Same goes for the story on how you met. I'm guessing if you met in a chat room and have only met in person once, you'll need a lot more proof of relationship vs someone who got sent to Bangkok on assignment for 6 months and fell in love with one of the administrative staff.

The more photos the better, espeically from different locations, along with boarding passes, especially if you and your fiancee flew anywhere together in Thailand. I'm not a big fan of giving ANYONE your passport. The boarding pass from the flight you just arrived on accomplishes the same thing.
