Man... will any one be left!

Congrats to all moving forward with the recently scheduled interviews! That rocks!

However, the answer is 'YES'...everyone will be left...because after all the successful interview in Bangkok, everyone will be moving forward with the AOS process...so...I imagine this cluster of folks will have another set of hurdles to jointly jump again soon after all the 'brides-2-be' are in the USA!

AOS is 'funner' though, because you'll be together

Wow we are all going to have to get a Summer 09 Thai reunion going. I'm calling for Vegas.

Funny story I got a PM today from a fellow VJ'er. He and his fiancee were at the embassy picking up visas at the same time. They started talking and he was trying to hook me up by telling Chada the clinic would be fine without her and to come see me ASAP. :) Man you talk about a small world!!!!

Brother Danny,

AAm and I are are definitely in for Vegas! One of her best friends in Chiang Mai was a monk who spent two years in Vegas evangelizing. I really liked this guy also...became close friends with him during my 20 or so trips in Chiang Mai. He was always talking to AAm about Vegas, and when I was around we all talked about it even more. So AAm has always spoke about going there. I know she'd really enjoy it. Of course, if we had a bunch of Thai chicks going all at the same time she'd be overjoyed.

At a minimum, we'll see you and Scott aka Daboyz later this summer...when we come to Tx to visit my folks. They live in the Bedford/Hurst/Euless area. AAm loved TEXAS when we were the for her first time last summer. My Dad (the ultimate stereotypical Texan) took her into Fort Worth to see the Longhorn stampede they put on daily. She sat on a massive Longhorn and got her picture...and sent it to her family in Thailand...they were beyond amazed (as I'm sure you can imagine...with all the 'lore of Texas') :P

Peace!

Looks like there were 2 interviews that we know about today (Thai time). 1 got a 221g, the other has not posted yet. The 221g apparently may have lived in Sweden since the embassy apparently asked for a police record from Sweden. Person w/ 221g was interviewed by the nice lady.

Hey, regarding Vegas.... we're not sure yet

We may have a change of plans. We had been thinking of getting married in Vegas, possibly on Labor Day weekend (Sept 7).

However after speaking to my parents, they said they'd really like to be at our wedding but they don't want to fly to LV. So we're thinking now of having our wedding in Niagara Falls instead, which is much closer to my folks, and they'd be able to drive there.

We may still be willing and able to go to Vegas for a getaway weekend (if we can get some cheap airfares) if there is a VJ meet-up going on. So I'm not ruling it out, just saying it probably isn't something we're initiating due to our wedding at this point.

If somehow it is possible I'm all for a Vegas meet up in July. Maybe set a Guinness record for most 's K1's wed in one day? Not that anyone but us would actually care about such a statistic.

Anyone already pass their K1 interview and not have a planned wedding date before the interview? That's the position I'm in. I don't want to set a wedding date or make any other concrete plans until the visa is in my fiancee's hand (we are dealing with the government here). I read that they might ask "when will you get married". My fiancee will probably answer "we did not want to set a wedding date until I receive the visa, but we will get married a month or two after I get to the U.S.". Anyone do something similar?

Ray, that is the right answer. The fact is... you don't know, and you shouldn't make up a date. Just tell them the truth that you are waiting, but you will get married as soon as possible, and within the 90 days.

Roi's right.

In fact, we did have this question asked when I was at the interview with AAm. We didn't have a date set either. We just simply replied, "Within 90 days of arriving in the USA." Simple enough ;-)

Once AAm was here, we had civil service within 30 days...and sent off the AOS on our 90th day. After she'd been here almost one year, we had a Catholic wedding. We celebrate both anniversaries <haha>
