On the packet 4 PDF, under legitimate relationship proof, it lists types of acceptable evidence, one listing is:

detailed phone records from telephone

companies (phone cards not acceptable)

I'm assuming VoIP companies are considered "telephone companies" in their eyes. Most of our phone bills will be PDF phone bills w/ detailed call lists from VoIP services and some web printouts of call lists from other VoIP services. Has anyone done anything similar? It's pretty expensive if you don't go the VoIP route, so I would be surprised if people are calling using POTS services anymore, but I guess I want to make sure.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

I have emailed them. They didn't really response back until they call me on June 3 and schedule me for the interview next week.

When you track Thailand EMS and if it's shown that someone pick up - normally will show security (guard)'s name, I think your document is there.

I printed out all my account activity from Vonage.

We used a calling card and all I did is print out all of the logs they didn’t even have our names on it at all just numbers and it worked today the interviewer even made a joke about how much I call because I call 5 times a day

I had a screwed up call situation with multiple issues

#1 I had AT&T and used a 3rd party (dial around) calling card with no detail billing back when I first started. I was pround about how cheap and effective it was but was also a noob back then. I made printouts from their web sit of the local access numbers and receipt for card purchased then highlight each call on the AT&T detail report of me calling those local numbers. In reality that proved almost nothing.

#2 Chada used a calling card that would freak AT&T's billing system out and show that I was calling myself every time she called me. Even though her cell number would show on my caller ID.. I tried like hell to get AT&T to fix it or give me a letter but they would not touch it. So I again just highlighted these numbers and Chada printed her detailed call logs that showed the same date / time of contact between the 2 logs.

#3 In 2009 when I read about the required detailed calling records I changed services to get the detail. I printed those reports and highlighted the local calls on the AT&T bill.

SO IN SUMMARY we had a very convoluted telephone record history. With that said we showed them every AT&T statement for 10 months with inbound and outbound entries indicated. There could have been jerks but they were not.

WHAT I DID to mitigate this issue and my "consolidated chat log experiment" was to write them a formal cover letter that was up front about 2 nuances (as I called them) in my proof of relationship. USCANDAUL and several people from work read it and were like wow thats good. If you have something small or complicated and your worried about how it will be interpreted I say you just be up front with it. Its much better to explain something up front then try having your SO explain it at the window AFTER they have identified it as an issue. I specifically asked Chada if the letter or questions about the phone or chat logs came up. She said it didn't. Here is a link to my cover letter.

Hopes this helps

Just one more thing. If you use MSN messenger for your chats it saves files in XML format. The cool thing is you can export them into excel. Once that happens you can make a hell of allot of difference in the layout and content.. (Think about a find / replace option... :) I consolidated 2 maximum sized MSN files plus files from chadas computer and my work laptop that would have otherwise been lost into a single 17,000+ message print out. I got what what would have been a ridiculous amount down to 100 duplexed pages that was simple and "nice" enough for anyone to read.

Maybe the overkill proof of relationship days are behind us (or were never there at all :) )but if you use MSN and want some insurance over volume and content I can recommend that. The template is posted on the previous page with the other files.

For people that already finished their interviews: did the embassy give you originals back without a problem? There are some originals like BC and name change docs I think we will need for AOS. Also, we will be submitting some relationship evidence w/ sentimental value that we also want back.

Yes, they will give back original documents. if they don't give them back automatically, just ask for them and they will give them back. As for the ones with sentimental value, i suggest making a copy. the pictures i submitted were not the originals but were ones i printed from my computer and they were not very good quality.

All in all, process is moving ahead smoothly. Looks like some people have gotten the physical started before receiving the packet 4 and interview date?

You need to have the physical done prior to sending in Packet3.

The guy who did ours and a couple others charged 200THB! So being an american I wanted to raise a stink but figured we'd never see the report. Has other people been charged for this service?

Looks like they figured out a way to make a few baht. I would still press for a receipt. I have receipts for everything we did as part of the process.

Ok, now I am confused. The medical is not listed on the document checklist, but else where in the packet 3? I am back home now and don't have the package... I looked as to what has been posted here for the document checklist and it does not have the medical listed. Someone straighten me out here, please.

My Thailand trip was great, Krabi was very nice, did the Island tour, hiking tour and a nice Sea kayak tour as well. Of course getting to see Nan was the best part!

Nan is going back up north to get her verification of non-married status next week, hopefully that will go smooth.

Thanks for your help!

I'm still wondering ...no rhyme or reason to the timelines. Sent paperwork July last year and a month ago they sent it to the embassy but still no packet 3. Looks like this will be an even year before we get her visa.

I don't know how to get anything happening faster. she got her medical, police and single cert in anticipation. I've got my bank statements from my banks...just waiting for packet 3 to come to submit. I really hope it won't be long. We've waited sooo long already just for a k1. it'll be nice to have this behind us.

I did the mistake last month of paying some fee to talk to the embassy...turns out the man who answered (thai) said "we no do k-1, wrong number" but I got the number off some website embassy link. Oh well, my mistake...no one harmed.

I can hardly wait but I wish it would happen sonner than later......

I'm nusing Siam Legal and they're saying we have to wait. I don't know why that is but the second her police report is back (supposd to be on the 7th), i'll press them for that.

Is there some place I can call the embassy to see if they even have it? I emailed but get referred to another email because they don't handle k-1's and the other doesn't answer (old trick since I was 3 mommy-daddy)! LOL!

I heard you can just send it in. I am eager to get her here! Amazing some who applied in JANUARY already have packet 3 and nothing on my end. Have no idea why mine is so lengthy

NVC is all done (aren't they)?, they sent it to BKK from what I understand over a month ago. (on my timeline--nothing from consulate yet)
