Hey you! People who had interviews recently! Question:

How did your fiancee's answer "when did he ask you to marry him?" (if you were asked). For Kat and I, it was more of a decision on both of our parts instead of the more traditional down-on-one-knee kind of thing. There are a bunch of reasons for that, including the fact that we wanted to plan an engagement party for my next trip, and we weren't in the same country when we first talked about it. So, there isn't a specific date that sticks out.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

Who is next in line for an interview?

I'd be happy for the embassy to simply acknowledge they got my packet 3. It's really depressing to be in this black hole and unable to get a response. I've given up on them responding to my emails and hoping the next posting of upcoming interviews on their website contains my Fiance's case number.

When you send them an email, do you get an automated reply immediately, or no?

I have sent 4 emails. The first one I did get a response from in which they indicated they hadn't gotten the package. I sent another a week later with no response, no reply at all. I then was wondering if maybe the person was Thai so I sent the letter again in Thai. I waited another week and sent a 4th letter, this time in Thai and English! No reply to the last 3, just straight into the abyss. I don't remember ever getting an automated reply. I've also tried sending from two different email addresses. I wish I knew what was going on. I do have a lawyer but he's out of the country for the week so I'll have him look into it when he comes back.

Also this might have gotten lost at this point in this thread. But I KNOW THEY received the package because I sent it registered mail. I just want the embassy to acknowledge that so I know my Fiance's interview date is approaching. If someone signed for it and tossed it on the floor somewhere then I want to know.

Oh and in a follow-up conversation she said there was no Fat Man. Just a small girl and small guy at the embassy and they were all nice. Maybe someone was "reassigned". Siberia would be a good place I think.

Just caught this now. I'll be very interested to see if future interviewees also report the absence of the bald guy. I suspect he was the sole source of most of the hell that went down during the interviews since January.

I would be happy to see him gone because there is no reason for someones first contact with the USA to be some rude A$$ who thinks they are God... I really see no reason to be mean or cruel to any of these girls no matter what the Govt official may think. All of this can be handled professionally, and guess what you still get the same outcome... Visa yes or Visa No, but people go away from the interview with a lot better feeling about the good ole USA ;)

I totally agree. I understand the need to weed out fraud and uphold the law, but some of the arrogance and condescending remarks these agents utter should result in their termination. However this is human nature for some people who are in a position of 'power'

 1. If you haven't already, I'd send an email again to visasbkk@state.gov AND visasbkk2@state.gov
 2. The embassy would not answer K-visa related questions for me over the phone when I tried calling a couple months ago, but maybe they will for you if you explain your situation.
 3. If nothing else works, I guess you could try to call the ACS section and see if they can do something for you.
Best of luck.

Oh about the piece of paper. It seems we have to come back on June 9th to

Wow Great news Danny, Welcome to America Chada.... Thank you so much for all the support and info you have given believe me it has been appreciated....:dance:

Your very welcome.

There is NO WAY I would have ever been able to accomplish my goal without VJ and this forum. I have also met a great group of people along the way. I certainly hope others can get some use out of the docs I created. We would have certainly had multiple things fall through the cracks and never made the 3 day Packet 4 turnaround without them. I feel very lucky to have been the only visa approved yesterday. A friend once told me you sometimes make your own luck. Considering we went from I-129 submission to Visa approval in 163 days and dealt with VSC and the embassy along the way I think we used EVERY kind of "LUCK" available.
