Got the standard reply from the embassy to my email about the status of the case after Teaw took all the new stuff on Monday. The above captioned K-1 fiancé visa case for Ms. BOONMA SRISOMPORN is currently under administrative processing. The visa Unit will be in touch with you and the applicant as soon as the process is completed regarding the outcome of the case.

Of course, they don't say what they are really doing, if it in the fraud unit or where. I am still debating if I should write a letter explaining what happened with the marriage, why and how it deteriorated so fast after we got married that left the door open for my relationship with Teaw to change into more than just friends. What do some of you other "seasoned" people think? Should I write the letter? I can get it there so they have it after the Songkran holiday!!!

I doubt that the timeframe of divorce to filing a K1 is what is holding up the process. Many people separate without filing divorce. Then when they meet someone else, the divorce is filed, completed, and the person is free to marry. In my case, my divorce decree from my first marriage was dated Sept. 25, 2006. Rin and I married in Bangkok on October 9, 2006 and filed for a K-3 a few weeks later when I returned to the USA. The timeframe was never an issue with either USCIS or the embassy.

I wouldn't bother with the letter unless they request information concerning the timing of your relationship.

K-3

Rob, we do the same thing. I call him at a certain time each day.

Does your phone bill show incoming calls? On the rare times Husby call me, my phone bill shows:

04/22/2009 13:23 6681411111 Incoming Call 00:32

And then me calling him back:

04/22/2009 13:24 6681411111 Thailand 53:48 $27.30

I'd think that'd be a fair enough way for them to see that she calls.

If not, just add it to your letter. "Audy and I have agreed that I will call her at 7:00 pm CST because it is 7:00 am for her, and she is awake and available at that time." or something along those lines.

Have her write her own letter, too, just to be safe. Thai is fine. English is fine. Whichever she's more comfortable using to express her feelings in. I'm the USC, born and raised here, but when it comes to feelings, even I prefer Thai because it expresses just what the difference between upset and mad really is. But that's just my preference. You and Audy may be different.

@ TheBears, I want to thank you for two very good postings. I have found the information in both very useful.

She calls occasionally but I do not answer, so I save her from paying however many Thai baht for calling the USA even for less than one minute. I know her call means to call her, or to go to the computer to chat. I can tell based on the time here in the USA. Occasionally she will send a text message if she needs something else.

I am thinking of asking her if I can answer the call. Then it will show up on my phone bill. Now, the unanswered calls do not show up. I can do the same as you. Answer for 30 seconds then call her back. And then she will want me to send her some more money. LOL.

I definitely agree with you about using Thai to express your feelings. I have never seen a language that used "heart" to describe every possible type of feeling, jai dee, jai dum, jai noi, jai ron, jai yen, jai yai. jing jai, dee jai, etc...

Thanks very much.

"so I save her from paying however many Thai baht for calling the USA even for less than one minute."

I think it's only like 10 baht to call and let it ring or even if you answer and hang up. But make sure you talk for at least 15-20 seconds so it shows

as one minute on your cell bill. I know when I have called my parents for Christmas or otherwise when I am in Thailand and I talk to them for 20 min. or more

I am surprised at how little time it took off the Thai number that I am using. So it might be worth her spending a couple hundred baht a month just so you have

the record of her calling you. Also, depending on how long you are in the process, it seems the phone companies there will only go back 3 months to give you

phone records. So maybe every 3 months she can call and have them mail her her phone records that shows her calls and texts to you. It will show you calling

but I doubt it would show your phone number if you are using phone cards.

I wouldn't worry about the holiday. It's not going to happen quickly in any case now.

Personally, given the specific circumstances that you explained combined with this AP issue, I would probably seek out an experienced immigration attorney at this point.

And what would an immigration attorney be able to do at this point that would make it worthwhile? Are they going to tell him what they are looking at? They act like

they are the CIA or something and exempt from the people who pay them seeing what they are doing.

A good phone card that keeps records online:

iTalk International Calling Card

http://www.thaitelephone.com/EN/calling-card/thailand/italk/index.php

No kickbacks for me or anything. Just something I found that we can both use. It charges in THB, too, so it's super cheap for the USC to buy and then both parties use it.

Mods: If I'm violating something, let me know and feel free to delete this post. My goal is only to share something good I found.

They act like

they are the CIA or something and exempt from the people who pay them seeing what they are doing.

The reason they don't tell people exactly what they look for or what causes AP / FPU, is the fact that if people know they will changes to circumvent the flags that go AP / FPU, thus resulting in more fraudulent people getting through. It could have been anyone of us, but there is something either in your background, her background, or something else that triggered the AP. Comb through your paperwork, and see if there is anything else that might have triggered it, maybe it was something that your fiancee has not told you, who knows.

I have worked in the three letter agency world and there are reasons that the play books are not made public. There is over sight just not to the general public, and there are good reasons why. It is not always apparent to the outside world, because you only see 1 side of the story (the media side).

I know what was in the paperwork and there is nothing there that I could ever think of that would trigger this except they see I got divorced from the Thai witch and mailed in the K-1 a week or so later. But the divorce is a matter of when I could get to Thailand again to do it and in the meantime Teaw and I went on with our relationship. There may have been something in the way she answered a few things as they did ask her about 5-6 questions about the ex, although her answers seemed ok to me. I only worked in a two letter world back in the late '60s...AI...army intelligence. But I understand what you are saying but at least say hey, it's here in this part. We'll let you know when we need something.

I'm shocked to see home much some of you are paying to call Thailand.

I use a company called Versafon. Unlimited calling to Thailand and 11 other countries for $8 per month. This is a complete VOIP service, so it also includes a USA phone number. Clarity is better than cellular for me. Customer service is lacking a bit, but what do you expect for $8 a month?

No problems at all. My wife uses it constantly to talk to her family. We've used it since around July of '09.
