In Gambia....

Hey folks.

Am still in Gambia. I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with the Dakar embassy lately. (meaning getting approved without hassles).

I'm still waiting on our march 25th interview date, but was wondering if I should go ahead and reschedule for a sooner date since. (the embassy scheduled this 3rd interview themselves and sent us an email, we didn't schedule it this time).

I will be traveling back to the U.S. on the 22nd of Feb and thought it would make more sense to get an interview before I leave so that I could attend.

(basically I'm trying to gauge the level of approvals or rather the "behavior" of the interviewing officers lately.)

I don't know for certain, but I wouldn't think it would hurt to ask for a date before you leave. That's what I would do if I were there and the interview was coming up.

There was someone recently who said that they got approved through Dakar in 5 days. It's still on the top page of the forum near the bottom. So, they had a positive experience. But in my time on the boards here, I haven't heard that as common.

We would have been approved without hassle if Washington had not mandated security checks on my fiance. We also have a friend who was in and out of Dakar in 3 weeks for her fiance's visa. This was back in October. I think of all the proof and paperwork is in order then you should be ok. No harm in asking for an earlier date if you can get it.

If my memory is correct I think that member\petitioner was from the UK...I am not sure if we can accurately gauge how fast it went since the petitioner was not from the US...
