I didn't really know anything about Laos beyond it was *somewhere* in Southeast Asia before my brother started going out with (and is now engaged to) a naturalized US citizen from Laos. I guess we'll have to add Germans to the pot because my husband didn't know sheet about Laos either before he met her. Now we both know a bit about Laos, like exactly where it is, its government, some about its culture, language, and food. But if we hadn't met her, we'd probably all still be clueless about Laos.

I grew up in an Aremenian,Laotian,Cambodian,Portuguese,Italian,Lithuanian, and Cape Verdian neighborhood.I find that if one is exposed to different cultures, they will know about the countries, cultures, etc. BTW,have your sister in law make you some Laap Gai,it's totally awesome.

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit, nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

June 15,2010-They called Manuel in to take his fingerprints again, still no decision on his case!
June 22,2010-WAIVER APPROVED at 5:00pm
July 19,2010-VISA IN MANUELITO'S HAND at 3:15pm!
July 25,2010-Manuelito arrives at 9:35pm at Logan Intn'l Airport,Boston,MA
August 5,2010-FINALLY MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 23,2010-Filed for AOS at the International Institute of RI $1400!

we didnt have the problem for finding where the beautiful BULGARIA is :)

The most beautiful place in Bulgaria is Sozopol :) The Rila mountains were also nice! Bulgaria does have a lot of tourism to offer. Too bad the mafia controls most of the property.

I just tested myself. I was able to identify 107 countries on an unmarked world map.

That's impressive. Where's the test?

I did it myself. I found an image file of an unmarked map, and opened it in an image editor, and drew a line over each country I could identify as I counted it.

You're form West Virginia? I have a cousin in Richmond!

I don't recall ever having a world geography class in school, so I'm self-educated.

Richmond is in East Virginia.

I think that's in South Virginia.

I know Kevin, I'm from Charleston. :D

I've had people tell me that in the past (about the cousin). It's usually a relative in Virginia or South Carolina. That hasn't happened in a long time though.

You're pretty smart. I thought all West Virginians were uneducated Hillbillies?

We also all have rusted out cars on cinder blocks in our front yards, a collapsing porch covered in hounds, and we marry our cousins. Oops, looks like I screwed up on that last one. :P Hey wait, so did you!
