So you're saying that if a chinese family comes to Brazil or the States, open a restaurant and cook the same chinese food they cooked in China, it's brazilian or american chinese automatically? Maybe you're talking only the typical americanized chinese food anyone can cook.

Actually, yes. I've had American Chinese food, cooked by Chinese, and it's still "Americanized." I think it has something to do with what Americans expect. Now I'm sure there are a few authentic Chinese restaurants here and there, but I've never been to one (in the US). Oh, and people in China have no clue what fortune cookies are. That's actually an American invention.

i've neber been to China, so the only chinese i know is the chinese cooked by chinese that live in brazil or chinese cooked by chinese people that live in america.

If Brazilian Chinese food is the same as American Chinese food, then yeah, you've only had the McDonald's of Chinese food.

Amen, brother.

If you want Chinese food in America, you need to go to a Chinatown and duck down a couple side streets.

Of the limited options, I chose fried chicken and cola....although, ONLY diet soda ever for me. Can't take that sugary taste of regular.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

i think you're generalizing and i disagree with you.

Until you travel to China, or as Uncle Wally says, go to a Chinatown and go to a restaurant that's down a side street that's intended to serve Chinese people, you'll never know.

What? Sweet and sour pork and beef with broccoli isn't authentic?! :o

It's not that they aren't authentic (although I've never seen broccoli in a Chinese dish, doesn't mean it doesn't exist though, it's a big country), it's just that the same dish cooked in China is MUCH better. American sweet and sour pork has got nothing on the real thing.

Don't get me wrong, I still eat and enjoy Americanized Chinese food, but I prefer the real thing.
