hi again to all,

I'm just worried right now because I was unemployed for 8 months last year, but i did work for 3 1/2 months in part time basis (paid cash). I did file my taxes back on 2007.

now my question:

1. Is my 2007 tax returns enough plus my current job right now ($12/hour) to show that I can support my fiance?

2. I got paid cash for 3 1/2 months last yr, I'm planning to hire a tax agent to declare my earnings and pay

necessary tax. is that the right thing to do?

You can file using your 2007 return.

You definately want to file the 2008 return and pay takes because you will need to show at the AOS that you have filed returns for the last 3 years if required.

your interview will be after the 2008 filing due date, so you will need 2008 tax, 2007 tax will be obsolete by then.

so if i declare and file my 5 to 6k of income last yr, is my current pay stub (work) enough to approve my fiance?

for your interview you have to prove that you make $17,500 (if just you and her) if your current work can earn $17,500 then your good to go...

I decided not to declare & file my 2008 taxes . Can i just give them my current pay stub and 2007 tax return?

if i were you...im gonna file 2008 tax then if my income is not enough im gonna support it with my recent pay stubs...and im gonna have co-sponsor..thats what im gonna do...coz thats i think is the right thing to do.

Your CURRENT income will qualify you for a family of three at least until the new guidelines come out March 1, after that who knows. If you can verify your current gross income your 2008 and 2007 will be irrelevent. Attach the most recent the 2007 return will be for one year from when it was filed, but I will warn you, this is a consulate sensitive issue, Manila could demand more.

Yes. Short and sweet way to say what I just babbled on about. They qualify by your CURRENT income first. Employer letter and 2 months check stubs should do it.
