Iraqis Go to the Polls Again

My Husband and I just had a heated debate over Iraq. I mention they're having an election today and start telling him the facts and immediately he gets emotional telling me it's a fake democracy and one million civilians died on a false war by an a-hole. My blood starts to rise when he tells me I don't know anything about it and again I try to tell him it's the provincial election today were over 2,000 candidates are competing for 57 spots like our Legislature here. He tells me he hasn't been following it because it makes him angry. I tell him this is not a fake election hundreds and thousands of Iraqi's are coming out today to vote and there are all kinds of candidates. People are concerned about if the religious sects will have positions of power this election who they were dissatisfied with last time or will they go a more secular route. That even the religious party that sat out in the first election is participating now. He tells me I don't know what's going on and he's not listening to me. That he is closer to there than I am to NYC. So what, this gives him rights to know what's going on in Iraq more than I can from following every piece of news from here? He didn't even know there was the second election today! He made me so mad. Grrrr. I tell him how can he say it's a fake democracy when all the people are participating in it. Then I said it's not even the parliamentary election today. That election is this December. Needless to say we got offline both upset with each other and I don't know what kind of exchange we just had or even what that was about?
