The people who met on WoW I am a bit concerned for. WoW was blatantly not made for making marriages lol but it is a payment in exchange for contact with other people run by a business. Albeit a business that is making games and entertainment not bloomin' international marriages!

One thing though. We are paying to play a game, but there is no personnal information given anywhere to attract anyone.

that charges fees

for providing dating, matrimonial, matchmaking services,

or social referrals

you have to include the whole sentence, its not just about charging fees, its about chargin fees for..., thats my guess.

There is absolutely no informations in WOW, they dont refer anybody. Its up to you if you want to give info or not and there is nothing that tells you that "there is the description of this person, send him a a message if you are interested".

Ill try to ask about that before sending my K-1.

Was about to say the same thing.

We met in Everquest but we were just chating, not flirting/dating. Only lasted a couple of days as she quited the game soon after(she had logged back after a month or two to check if her friends were still playing before permanently quiting). That's where we started to chat via emails, yahoo messenger and finally MSN messenger.

MMORPGs (the popular ones I know) offers an intertainement service where you pay a monthly fee to be able to play. This payment is needed because the game is always updated. They add new content, etc. Servers need to be maintained.

If you meet someone while playing an online game, it's the same thing as if you met someone while on a vacation in real life.

Anyway, I hope those RFE won't take too long. California's Center was about 2-3 months behind. They are now over 5 months behind!

My dad belongs to a Cleveland Indians fan forum.

Yeah good to see we have a few fans out there!

Ok back to topic. I don't see how playing on an on-line gaming site would be relevant for IMBRA. Darcy and I met on pogo.com. Its a free gaming site but you can upgrade to a paid subscription which I am. We chatted in a public chat room. After exchanging pictures, we then took our friendship to Yahoo IM and the phone before it escalated to what it is today. I think people are reading too much into this law.

Ummmmh...

officially I am not affected by IMBRA... we got our NOA1 in February already, and we went through California Service Center.

BUT- my fiance and I met through a dating site (hotmilitarysingles.com). Is there a chance, it will be a problem when I have my Interview and the CO asks me how we met? (We met 2003 already though)

This whole thing totally drives me crazy!!

I think, you don't have to wory about that too much. We got processed through CSC and according to that site, we shouldn't have gotten anything yet (we sent the petition Feb 6),but I am already waiting for my Interview appointment.

I don't know why those updates are so far behind...maybe we were just lucky because we initially sent the petition to Tecas Service Center and they forwarded it to California.
