Hey everyone, we JUST GOT APPROVED!!!

We got an email notification just this morning, we have a NOA2 dated January 30th, 2009!

Way excited and happy right now, time to rearrange travel plans in March. Bass was going to come out to spend the month in California pending NOA2 and the consulate interview, but now it looks like the interview will happen waaaay before April.

NOA2 came as a real surprise, we weren't even expecting it for another 2-3 weeks in the best case.

Our NOA1 was on October 20th, 2008, so it took just 102 days...

We had an RFE on January 16th, our reply got there on the 28th/29th, so it must have convinced them!

We're both way happy right now, just totally relieved!

To everyone still waiting, just hang in there, the feeling I have right now is totally amazing and worth the wait!

Thanks to everybody for the congrats and good wishes, I am still way euphoric this morning...

Congratulations! :dance: What was your RFE for?

Our RFE was for a long version birth certificate from Chinap as proof of citizenship and for copies of Bass' passport, with entry stamps into the US, as proof of meeting... We also included some additional secondary evidence (Bank & Credit Card statements).

CONGRATS on your APPROVAL! Stephen's case was APPROVED on January 30, 09 also. I wonder if I'll be allowed inside the U.S. Embassy (in Nigeria) on the day of his interview (I was travelling there anyway), I didn't expect this to happen so soon.

According to the Embassy Info link at the top of the page for Nigeria, the answer is No. http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...a&cty=Lagos Sorry :( But at least if you are going anyway you can be closer than you are when you are here in US! Good luck!

Hi! I'm new here..I've been searching for days for answers to my questions.

I received a letter from the embassy that I am now legible for an interview and that I can call the call center to schedule. I didn't receive any packet 3, just that letter from US embassy, though I heard for some, they didn't receive any packet as well. In my case, i'm just going to download the forms online. Maybe because we filed the petition ourselves and not through an agency.

I am still awaiting for my fiance to file the affidavit of support coz his tax return should be current and such should have been in the mail January 31st. I didn't call for scheduling because of this and this leaves me wondering on when I should call for my interview. Is it best to wait till I get hold of the affidavit of support before calling? or Is it okay to call now and schedule ahead, say a month from now for an interview? If you can help me on this matter, please do respond to this. I'd truly appreciate good info on this.
