Hello everyone!

Just a quick question. I'm almost ready (well... in 3 months but counting the days! ) to fill the I-751.

We have all the bills (gas, water, electricity, internet, phone) and bank/mortage/credit cards statementes in joint accounts with both names.

But how many months of bills/bank statements did you send with your application? All the last 24 months since you get the 2 years green card? or just a few last months?

I'm thinking to send just the last 3 months. What do you think?

Thank you!!!!!

Yeah we just sent a few recent joint bills and bank statements. If we have a interview we'll take a few pounds!

Sent LOTS of other evidence also.

They want to see evidence that covers the whole time frame of your marriage so while I would include the most recent bills I would also include some of the earlier ones as well. I sent in bills and statements from each quarter of the year so there were 4 of each type of bill or statement from each of our 4 years of our marriage. I did the same for all of our evidence, tried to include something for each quarter of the 4 years. It is harder to 'fake' continuity of a relationship and that helps make your evidence more effective.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Just my opinion, but that's overkill. All I ever sent was the MOST RECENT of each bill. Yes, just one representative bill from each utility. Never had a problem.

You're lucky. Others have had RFEs requesting evidence that shows the whole span of their marriage and had to submit that evidence before approval - people with lots of good evidence already. Overkill? I want to make it as easy as possible for them to agree that we have a valid marriage.

Thank you guys for your good answers.

The problem is that before buy this house, we lived in a little cabin and we paid to a landlord that never gave us a receipt because was a friend of us. We paid him mostly in cash and he include all the utilities in our monthly payments so we don't have any bills from the first year.

Then in april 2008 we bought our house (joint loan) and all the bills and statements are in joint accounts. But we have that evidence just from April to now (bills and mortgage).

But based in your answers and what I think is that I'll send the first bills of each that we received (May 2008), one from the middle (Nov 2008) and the most recent at the time to fill the I-751 (March 2009).

In any case I think I have a lot of evidence (bills (electric, gas, water, internet), credit cards, mortage, bank accounts, cars insurance, lot of photos, mortgage, taxes, affidavits, concert tickets, ski seasson passes and more).

Thank you again.
