Suggestion for Topics that are Moved

I'm new, so maybe it's just taking a little bit to be able to navigate myself around the topics a little better. I have seen a couple topics that have "~moved" next to them. My suggestion is that it give a destination to where that topic was moved.

Example: (Let's say the following post was posted in the K-1/ FIANCE VISA thread)

We've been married for 3 months, but living in two different countries, what can i do to bring my wife to the U.S.?

In this case it could say:

We've been married for 3 months, but living in two different countries, what can i do to bring my wife to the U.S.?
~moved to K3-SPOUSE VISA thread

I think this would help remind people which topics go where and let me know for future reference where exactly they should be posting them.

Just a suggestion:)

Hum, thought most organizers were doing that

I think the OP means in the title of the thread...

That's exactly what I mean. I'm talking about when you view all the topics, most of the time you see "~moved" out to the side, but you have no idea where to unless you click on it. I just think it would be more convenient if it said the destination right out to the side without having to click on each topic to see where they went.:)

When we move a topic, it shows "moved" and the topic name is still there....when we announce we have moved it we will say what forum we moved it too....no need to write out the whole topic name and then explan where we moved it. Simply if you want to know where it was moved, click on the thread, it will take you directly to the forum it was moved to....and then if you scroll down the page you will also see where the organizer stated where it was moved to. I dont know how other orgs do it, but when i move a thread, i leave the thread in its original place so ppl can see it was moved.

The whole point, clicking on the moved thread, takes you to the forum it was moved to.

unfortunately, that would mean ewok would have to give organizers the ability to change the title of threads, and i doubt he'd do that. currently only admin (ewok) and mods can do that.

It doesn't mean you necessarily have to change the title. Just some kind of widget that adds the destination to the title. I'm indifferent to the idea, but it's not insurmountable.

I'm more curious as to why some topics just "disappear" when they're moved to another forum, while some show that it was moved. Captain?

bc when we move a thread we have an option to either keep the thread title in the original forum and show it was moved, or move the thread and not show that it was ever in the first forum it was made. I dunno why no one would choose to keep it showing in the original forum...i do.

Really?! Interesting. So some threads are being moved without the benefit of the OP or anyone else ever knowing where their post up and went to. I'd been thinking it was a bug or something. Are there any good reasons why an organizer might want to make a post disappear like this?

forgetting or not thinking of choosing "yes" to leave a ghost of the thread in the original forum.

Im not trying to speak for all the orgs, but i doubt they purposly make the thread disappear

So the default option is to make the thread move without leaving a \"ghost\" behind?

Gotcha. :)
