A&R which visa are you going for the CR-1 or the k-3?

well my I-129F petition was approved and forwarded to bombay consulate, and I have appt on april 3 with them....so that's for K3

I wanted to proceed with my CR-1 visa stuff at NVC however....so far all I hear on the automated response is that they have generated the bills. I still have not received anything from them, so just waiting.

I am planning on going to bombay in march so that I can take over the original documents and be support for my wife, but I don't know what will happen at NVC since I will be out of the country

A&R, Can't you keep track through email? Or check their online site? I'm not sure if they have a website but I am thinking with all the technology there's gotta be a way for you to keep in touch. Or maybe you can have someone you trust keep you updated while you're away.

I also have a question regarding which to follow since both K 3 and I 130 are getting approved together. Of course, I realize that following the CR 1 is better but in A&R's case, if his K 3 interview is first, do they still have to go through adjustment of status once the spouse enters the US and will it be much quicker to get the Green card since I 130 was approved at the same time? So confusing.... This K 3 thing ended up complicating things instead of making the process easier!! Go figure!

Queueup and Aruba, seems like you guys are almost there! The puzzle is almost complete . Way to go!

A&R - To continue with the NVC process you need to send the originals, you can try and get through the NVC in time for your april interview, but you will have to do everything within the next two weeks. Otherwise just focus on the K-3 and forget about the CR-1.

my case ws approved on 23 jan .. and as i hv lawyer i dont hv to fill 3032 right??

now i hv another question , when should i send my DS-230 part 1 and when can we send I-864 ? is thr any cut off dates for tht ?

as it is taking longer time for geting PCC..

Update...I sent the AOS package Saturday morning, the USPS agent told me the package would be delivered on Tuesday, however, USPS attempted delivery on Sunday and now the AOS Package is sitting in post office. Apparently with Express Mail they do not attempt re-delivery after the first attempt, unless requested. Since I missed the cut-off today, I asked for them to redeliver tomorrow. What a PAIN!!!

Hi K.D. - If you are following the K-3 route, you shouldnt have to fill out a DS-3032, only if you are following the CR-1 Route. Have you called NVC to get your case numbers? You will have two case numbers, 1 for the I-130 and 1 for the K-3. If you are following the K-3 route, you will have to submit your AOS and DS-230 packages to VFS up to 15 days before your interview. Has your husband or wife received the packet-3 from the consulate in India? What state are you trying to get your PCC from?

Update...So I finally got the tax collectors to sign the Local PCCs, and then the District Police officers signed and stamped them. Now I need both tax collectors to sign the final envelope, which should happen tomorrow(since they both left for the day), and my wife should be able to apply for the Passport PCC by Friday. One step closer, but still feels miles away.

I can imagine how that feels I am trying to gather everyting in advance as mush as I can. I don't want to lose any more days!! Can you please tell me what I should tell my employer when I request the letter of employment? What do they want to see in there? And how did you guys know what to put in the letter? Is there a link or shortcut I can read? Please

ArubaDolphin - I feel your pain. I am waiting on these local PCCs to be signed off and its just taking forever, with multiple trips to the same person. 1 Day for the local tax collector pushes me out 2 - 3 days in getting the Passport Clearance certificate.

GS4Ever - For the Employment Letter it should contain your name, position/title, hire date, and current salary. I had my letter notorized as well by the Human Resources department.

ArubaDolphin - You can submit the package as is, and see if you get an RFE. I think you should start a separate topic in this forum and the National Visa Center forum so you can get the opinions of others who may have been in the same situation as yours.
