Update...I just called NVC, My I-129F has been sent to the Consulate today. No updates on my I-130, I got the 4-6 weeks timeline.

It may be a stupid question but, what are you guys talking about passport clearance???? what is that??? Why is it needed????

My K-3 went to Embassy

My CR-1 (I-130) is still at state and got DS3032 generated & IV BIll YEsterday, I found that out today

I think the reason mine took long at USCIS is i have travelled allot to the US in the last 10 years more than i can remember and they have to make sure i didn't overstay any of them, which i didn't

STILL IT WENT TO EMBASSY!! YAYYYYYYYY I am daydreaming of when I can post the same! Like I said before, I will accept a timeline of 250 days to approval like urs was. Today is day 203 for us. My husband and I have a bet going on of which day we will get our approval, he voted for day 250 but I think it's a little bit further like day 258. I can't wait to do my dance The smileys are waiting lol Imagine I call USCIS and say you have to give me an approval b/c the poor smileys are waiting lol hahahaha that would be really funny

And congrats to u too queuedup wanna hear something funny?? u know how u and aruba kept writing upadate I kept thinking there was someone in the forum named update hahahaha And I;m like who the heck is Update? cz u guys kept writing it with a capital U First my nerves were shot then my brain shut down. I am normally a rather smart person who speaks 5 languages lol ...U C what effect the USCIS syndrome is causing on us poor S.Os?? What's next I wonder??? And this is just day 203!!

GS4EVER don't worry your approval will come soon. The VJ timeline estimates were right on the money with my approval, it said Feb 2nd-March 3rd and I got my approval on Jan 30th.

Aruba - In addition to the local police station clearance certificate, as per the India reciprocity rules, my wife and waithatter's wife have to get a passport clearance certificate. I looked at the Aruba reciprocity table, and it doesn't look like you need to worry about a passport clearance certificate.

Thanks queudup, I agree with you. Even Bri Aron who got approved has an NOA1 of 06/16/08 and Esposa and Serendipity are very close , leaving me third in tow I figure based on the timelines seen most of our K 3 clan are getting approved b/w Day 235, 242, 254, 256,287 and 290. I keep track of the days people have been waiting to sort of get an idea when too completely freak out lol. I find it helps center me and shows me what to expect. It is truly helpful to have others to compare your case to, though they are all unique in their own way. But thanks for all the support and good luck to all -both approved and still waiting. I'm sending some more positive energy out there for all

Queueup, You are always so helpful How did you know about the passport clearance? Was it requested from you? And where on the table are you supposed to look to see if your country will require one?

For the passport clearance, I found out in two ways. First, by reading posts from other folks in India who are going through the same thing in the Asia South forum, and I also looked at the Packet 4 that is required by the Mumbai Consulate, and in there it mentioned the Passport clearance. Most consulates/embassies will have the packet 4 available online for you to download, just google US Consulate <and the country you will be interviewed in>.

For the reciprocity table, select your country from the drop down on the web page, and then scroll down and it will list a set of documents and potentially where you can get them.

GS4EVER - try and get as many of your documents together as early as possible. The IRS transcripts take about a week or so after you order them to arrive.

Is there anyone out there that has figured out how this USCIS VSC vs CSC, and the transferred CSC vs. originally at CSC thing is working? I really have a hard time understanding why people that received NOA1 in October / November that were transferred over from VSC are getting approvals at CSC in January / February. Meanwhile there are people that have been at CSC with NOA1 from July, August, September, October and November that sit waiting for a touch.

It does not affect me (yet) because I am a late November/early December CR-1/K-3 filer) but if I were the others I would be confused and very sad

I was happy when I was assigned to CSC originally, but now it seems to be a big disadvantage.

Has anyone tried to get an answer on this from CSC?

Thanks queuedup and Eric no sense in trying to figure it out. Count your days. Most people are getting approved around 250 or beyond. I know it's not much consolation but it's better than not having anything to hold on to .

My wife took following items to passport office:

1). Passport

2). passport office form and fee

3). Copy/Original PCC from local police station

4). Copy/Original Interview letter

It takes about 3 to 4 days to get passport office pcc in mail.
