Consider flopping option 1 and 2 under the Guides for Married

We seem to have a lot of people wishing they never filed an I-129F for a spouse. Perhaps one of the reasons for that is that we still list K3 as option one when married. I recommend it be listed as option two.

All things being equal I agree the IR1/CR1 options tends to be preferred.... and as you can see the timeline is very similar so most people would likely want the IR1/CR1 Visa:

I will consider moving them around when I update the page next (this week likely).

As long as timelines are what they are at this time to me the K3 isn't much of a option. It was original created to cut down on the huge differences in processing times of the CR/IRs. No longer the case if CR/IRs are submitted proberly.

The negatives of the K3/K4 far outway the month or so longer it takes for CR/IRs.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

I'm curious about something. What is the sampling time frame for the graphs? For example, is the 333 days for IR-1/CR-1 averaged over the last month, last 2 months, last 6 months?

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

The "estimated date for approval" on peoples timeline profile are a statistical estimation. The graphs are a moving average (with outlier rejection). The moving average window size I think is 1-3 weeks. It varies slightly between forms. Forums with many more data points have a smaller window and conversely for forms with less data.

Just bumping to see when you're going to make the flop. It's been a while.

Bumping again. My fingers are getting tired of informing people why not to take the K3 route. Please stop showing it as option 1.
