Hello All, hope someone can help me out here. Our NOA2 was approved on 12/29/08. Received a letter on the 7th of January that it would be sent to NVC within a week. Haven't heard anyhting so I called DOS and they said it was still there. So from reading others problems I asked if it was in AP. He said yes, that they were waiting for an interview date. I thought that the embassy decided on the interview date???? Has anyone else come across this problem? Appreciate any help you can give me cause I am at wits end! Thanks....

I-129F can take up to 4 weeks or so to travel through NVC.

I really think that the operators have no idea what AP is all about so say the first thing that comes into their head that they think will reassure you. My understanding is NVC arranges the interviews for other visa types so the operator may not have noticed it was a K1 visa petition and just threw that out there in the hope of making you feel better. Unfortunately the 4 weeks or so that you see quoted on the board guides seems to have extended itself to 6-7 weeks

Sorry that you got caught up in AP, I reccomend the thread cdneh linked for moral support and a place to moan about the unfairness of it all without any come backs.
