Hi All,

Could anyone help us with this question -

If I apply for a K-1 visa, marry my fiance in the USA, and then apply for Permanent Residency, am I then able to travel OUTSIDE of the USA (eg. UK/India) whilst my application for permanent residency is being processed?

Or, am I bound to stay within the USA until my Permanent Residency is approved.

Many thanks for your advice and help.

See the AOS guide and read about "advance parole".

Thanks, but I'm having difficulty finding the section on advance parole - is there a link you could kindly send?

You will be filing an I-131 along with the other forms for Adjustment of status, this will get you an AP document, AP can take 90 days or so to get after filing I-131 with AOS.

Moving this to Work/Travel prior to green-card forum.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
