Hello everyone,

My wife and I are awaiting for embassy interview on our CR1 process. My wife lived in Bogota and she does not have any vaccination records, Can she goes anywhere to get this done. Does any one know how much this could cost?

Yes she can.. My fiancee is going to the Red Cross in Bogota tommorrow for her vaccines. This is the cheapest place. It depends on her age as to what vaccines she needs. As far as costs goes but figure on at least $150.00 USD There is a age scale somewhere that was posted a couple weeks ago.. Scroll back till you find it.The Doctor will be the most expensive way to go.

yes she can. I paid in a private laboratory for 2 vaccines 13 dollars (MMR $10 dollars and DPT $3 dollars). I had varicella so I didn't need this vaccine

Yes the varicella is the most expensive one and must be done in 2 different shots. 2 weeks apart if you never had them .

Thats where I came up with the $150 fee as a safe estimate to get the required vaccines.........The others are low cost......

that was my case, for that reason I had to repeat some vaccines (DPT - MMR) because I didn't want to have to pay hundreds of dollars to the embassy doctors, believe me, they like the easy money , many people wait to see these doctors and they have to pay 200 dollars or more on vaccines

CONCRETE, don't worry if your wife can't find any records because both doctors are very strict about having the vaccines as recent as possible. Every now and then they'll accept old records but for most people their rule of thumb is that if they're older than 4 weeks, they'll tell them to get them done again, at their office only.

The vaccines your wife will need are TD, MMR and varicella if she hasn't gotten it yet. Tell her to call both doctors' offices to get an estimate of how much these shots will cost, then tell her to call other places like the Red Cross to see if it's cheaper for her to get them somewhere else. Some times it is, some times it isn't.

Now she tells me that it is 4 weeks apart. Now she will never be ready for her Doctor's appt. She just had the first Varicella shot yesterday they told her this then and in 13 days it will be her Doctor's appt. Can the Doctor overrule this 4 week wait? give her the shot after 16 days wait so she is ready for the interview?

Please read the post #1390 above this one.. How can this be? 4 weeks between shots? Or can the doctor just have the last word and give her the 2nd. Varicella shot after only 16 days from the first dose? BTW she had them done at the Red Cross as you stated. It was cheaper.

My wife called one of the Dr. on the embassy list. They were friendly and they told us that to update the vaccination records is about $150.00. I'm surprised they don't mention anything about the timming between shots. I will suggest going to any other doctor and find out. Good luck

So for the interview everything should be fine and the visa should be approved. Problem is when they get here and file for AOS. If their vaccination record shows that they're missing any vaccines, the USCIS will send an RFE requesting it.

Bottom line is, all beneficiaries should be free to get the necessary vaccines whenever they want and wherever they want. These doctors should not have a say on whether a vaccine is too old or not if an immunization record is provided, especially if it was done within weeks or even months before the interview, right? Yet, that is almost never the case mainly because they want that extra cash for each vaccine that they don't approve of. That's it, it's all about money.

Are they charging people the extra money at the embassy for the new visa fee? I read someplace that it is called a surcharge fee

And to be prepared to pay it before the interview at the embassy ? Do you know anything about this? Are they starting to get the new visa fee this way? Even if you already paid the $131.00 as we did?

I have the I-134 form filled out. But the instructions say I-864 is needed..Am I reading the wrong instructions?

For the I-129F petition which one do I bring to the interview.. The I-134 or I-864 ? Support document..
