Hello,

We cannot get an appointment for the appointment till 2-3 weeks after the interview. One Doctor said. The other had a contact phone number that was no good. Do we have to use these 2 doctors only? Is there a list of other doctors we can try and call?

Slow the roll there Panama, I did not want to copy the whole thing. Here is the link for the Medial exam info off of the immigrant portion as the doctors are the same. Did not want to cufuse the issue but apprently I did. Here is the link for the info from the immigrant side which is not you as you are going for the K-1. I know when I made the appoints in 2008 I called about 3 weeks in advance but much has changed since them.

My first K-1 involved an Immigration lawyer. My second K-1 was filed by me, and I also filed my Adjustment of Status forms - saving approximately $2,500.00 in Attorney fees total. With the help of the 'EXAMPLE FORMS' link, you can download and learn to navigate these forms yourself after your Fiance moves to the USA and you get married.

Tip #1: Be sure that you are able to complete the Packet 3 materials and hand them to your Lawyer within the next month. You will want your Lawyer's Paralegal's one step ahead of the ball so that your case will proceed with as little downtime as possible.

Tip #2: Be sure you can compile your Packet 4 materials without any difficulties. These will be compiled by your Fiance in Medillin - your Lawyer will tell you that these materials are needed, but will not be able to help you very much with obtaining the Colombian Passport (for example) or a notarized Birth Certificate.

Your best bet will be to study the materials that you will need, so that when that coveted Interview Letter arrives, you will already know what to do. All my Immigration Lawyer was really able to do for me was to prepare my I-129F paperwork - and cancel my K-1 after the relationship dissolved prior to my first date with my K-1 beneficiary and wife.

Good luck with everything,

-Ken

Hi Bertha, here my experience. In my opinion, it doesn't make any difference, the presence of both is not requested by the embassy. For the interview I was alone, it was easy, the Consul was kind, the questions were simple and then he saw the pics, nothing else.

thank you so much Ken everything you told me was very helpful...i know that once he gets here we have to marry within 90 days and then we have to appyl for something else. but thats like 2500.00 also so i will try to get enough ppartice so we can do that on our own and not have to spend the money with a lawyer because you are right all they really do is just fill out the paperwork for you. i am keeping my fingers crossed my lawyer will be a little bit more helpful then that. but thanks so much again i really apperciate it. and its so good to talk to peole who know what i am going through, gives me more strengh! take care!

Maria misdialed the number... because when I had someone from the USA call we got an appointment for May 5th.2010

This is one week before the interview and 3 days before I get there. This works fine for me.. Maria is nervous and stressed out and making mistakes.. I hope she calms down for the interview...:whistle::whistle:

Thank You for the help...I think we are OK now...I can only Pray she chills out because my cell rings everytime something does not go her way.

Or she cannot understand what I am trying to get her to do... :bonk:
