You can ask other Colombia Petitioners what their appointment dates are in order to guesstimate when the Embassy is making appointments. Otherwise, call DOS when you are sure Colombia has your DHL package, and you will get your specific interview date. Good luck with the process, Amigo.

OK thanks for the answer......I will call DOS again tomorrow. They were the ones who told me pak #3 was sent out on 3-30-10 They would not send that out unless they recieved the DHL pak. Correct?

We faxed our pak #3 in on the same day not wanting to wait to get it as I was reading here and talking to Mark and Carol on the phone.

I did not know that DOS would have that info.About the interview date........

Thanks Again

Be sure to read up on the Bogota - Consulate page:

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Colombia&cty=Bogota

DOS should have your interview information, or they will have it very soon. Likewise, the Consulate should have your package, but not sure if it is being processed with this being a major holiday today in Colombia. But, you are definitely ahead of the curve by not waiting for your Packet 3 info to arrive in the mail.

Hi all :)

I'm going to be with my fiancee during her interview, I was wondering how long can I be by her side throughout the entire process? So for instance we get to the embassy and 6:30am and are completely done with the process by 12:30pm. Out of those 6 hours will I get to be by her side 30 mintues until the gates open, 4 hours, 5.5 hours, just looking for a guesstimate. Also any chance I can be in the interview with her if needed by interviewer? Thanks so very much in advance for any help :)

This is such a great forum, found the embassy review section and looks like we'll be able to stay close all day during this intense, stressful process.

  • You can stand with your Fiancee as you walk with her to the Embassy and stand in line #3.
  • You will have to take off your belt and check in any personal electrics that you have on your person.
  • You can stand in line with your Fiancee as you walk to the kiosk and pick up your Sobre where you will pack all of your materials listed on your Packet 4 list of required materials.

  • After your Fiancee fills out all of the forms given to her and checks to see that everything is in perfect order, she will be given her own interview that you have to stand by and wait through.
  • After this interview is given, you will be sent to the other side of the parking lot/reception area :hehe: where she will be finger printed and given the oath. This is where you come in.
  • At this point, you will be observed hugging and kissing your Beneficiary by the Consular Officer who will determine whether or not you have a bonafied relationship. You will be interviewed after your Beneficiary is asked to give her fingerprints, and after showing your photographs, love letters/cards, phone bills, etc., you will be told if your petition was approved or denied. The burden of proof will fall on you to prove that your application for a K-1 is for your beneficary to marry once she steps foot on American soil.
  • Any hesitation regarding this fact will result in a denial.

OK one more question.....The interview is May 12, 2010 and I am buying my ticket to attend the interview this weekend. I also want to buy my fiancee's ticket to the USA at the same time. I want to know if approved. will she have the visa in hand before May 22nd.?

This is 10 days after the interview...I will take the chance and buy ahead at a better price than wait till after the Visa is in hand. And by her ticket for May 22,2010 to the USA..

Is this long enough or should I make it the following Saturday the 29th. of May ? I was hoping that if she picked it up at the Domesa

office and that she would have it in a few days after the interview. I see no reason for it to be denied I have lots of proof she has a big diamond ring and I will be at the interview... I think from reading past posts 10 days would be long enough to have the Visa by then.

Maybe I'm just dense :bonk: but I can't find the DS-156K in spanish. I went to the embassy page and it has a link on the spanish page but the form is in english. I googled it etc. the only one I found was for guatamala embassy and it looked a bit shady and there was no header and form number. I could swear there was a link around here somewhere.... Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Is the ticket you plan purchasing going to be fully-refundable? What if your case goes into AP? You need to prepare yourself for any unforseen circumstances.

Domesa take 3-4 bussines days to deliver the passport in Bogota, is faster if you go to their offices (phones: BOGOTA 424 87 24 - 424 87 00 )
