I also think its about the cash they say they knows what she has but not 100%. They keep on wanted to do exam after exam. They do skin test and it was positive but when they do tissue sample they say it is negitive maybe because she is in early stages. I told her they need to start treament that we do not have time or money for them to continue just doing exams every week. Its time the doctors make a descion

They sure are putting you and Sandra through your paces. Its like the Doctors are sniffing around for more and more money, and these "tests" are just there to depleat your wallet. I'm sorry you have to go through all of this. Happy Birthday, BTW.

I have a question,

The Bogota Embassy recieved my file today. Can we fax in the DS-230 and the DS-2100 forms now?

Also the shots required.. Hep A + B shots are done over a period of 6 months.. How does this work in Colombia ?

When Maria faxes in the forms Part 1 of DS-230 and the single page DS-2100 then she will recieve an appointment

letter? And this is used to go to the doctor ? what is the actual cost for everything..... I need to know what to send to Maria.

Thanks, you guys here come highly recommended by other posters who go through Bogota.

what is the actual cost for everything..... I need to know what to send to Maria.

First, study this webpage. It told me 90% of what I needed to know:

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Colombia&cty=Bogota

1. DS-2100 and DS-230 (Pages 1 & 2 ONLY - Ken) are to be sent back as soon as possible, include your e-mail address on DS-2100 and they say they will notify you of receipt via e-mail. You can then start looking on their website for interview date:

http://bogota.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas.html (English)

http://spanish.bogota.usembassy.gov/visaderes.html (español)

2. ^^^ See response/message above ^^^

3. They call it 'THE K VISA APPOINTMENT PACKAGE'(also no their website)

Open appointment letter

DS-156

DS-156K (if for fiancé(e))

Information about photos (need for interview and medical exam)

LIST OF DOCUMENTS to be take to interview

VISA FEE INFORMATION

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS

Started checking their website for interview dates after returning Packet3.

I would send the equivalent of $300 to get the ball rolling. This is where the expenses start to pile up...one right after the next! :bonk::dance:

Thanks for all the helpful replys....Do we have to use one of the doctors listed in the Visa package information pages?

Or can we choose one ? Also Maria was raised on a farm in southern Colombia and never had any shots as a kids .. so she tells me.

I do not thik they will make her get a polio vaccine at 48 years old and I also was told at that age they do not require the Hepatitus A+B shots either. Please Someone who knows for sure answer this for us...

You can choose your doctor to start vaccines. Is cheaper I hear than embassy doctor but you must go see one of the doctors a copule of days before interview. We called they asked us when our appointment day was and sceduled an appointment. As far as what shots she needs and do not need only doctor can say

for vaccines you are free to use any lab, at least she will need the MMR, DpT vaccines ( I paid for both vaccines 13 dollars), If she had Varicella then she won't need the vaccine. Am not sure, but possible she will need the hepatits vaccine.

About the others vaccines I recommend read the guide Adult Immunization Schedule 2010 Page 2 shows the chart

Hello Folks I'm hoping you can help me out here.

I have searched and searched and found many half answers in regards to packet 3 and the DS-230. To me, it seems simple enough, but I am hoping to get a clear and concise answer from those who have recently done it about how to request and interview in Bogota. The online packet three says the following:

FIRST: Obtain the documents on this list that apply to your case (list of documents attached), but DO NOT send them to this office. You must present them at the Consular Section on the day of your visa interview. You will be notified in writing of the date of your interview.

SECOND: As soon as you have obtained ALL documents required to process your case, you must complete and sign the attached Forms DS-2100 and DS-230 Part I (Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration – Biographic Data). One DS-2100 is required per petition. One DS-230 is required for each applicant.

WITH REGARDS TO THE DOCUMENTS LISTED IT CLEARLY SAYS:

------------------DO NOT SEND THEM TO THIS OFFICE. YOU MUST PRESENT THEM AT DAY OF INTERVIEW-----------------

I have read many places (especially in the wiki DS-230) where copies of these documents should accompany the DS230 and DS2100. Also some kind of cover letter should accompany the forms.

What is right what is wrong? I read it as fill out the friggin forms and send them in.... Simple, straight forward, to the point....easy.

I ask this because my fiance must finagle her work schedule to obtain some of the documents over the next month. I'd hate to have to wait until she has every single item then schedule the appointment if it is not required.

I know there are many people who wish to help with their speculation and opinions and I thank you for your willingness to help. I however, wish to hear from those who know the facts and can tell me of their expieriences etc.

Thanks again to those willing to help clear this up!

Uh........ Lo Siento folks, apparently I was quite frustrated while searching for answers and when it came time to ask my question I neglected to read Ken y Leidys post above...... My bad! I read the Bogota, Colombia US Embassy / Consulate info page that was recommended and low and behold my question was answered.

Thanks for the info Ken y Leidys!

I guess y'all can disregard my previous post and chalk it up to FVPTSS or Fiancé Visa Processing Traumatic Stress Syndrome.

The twitching has subsided for the most part....
