Thanks to kens great posts we are staying at the apartment now. Everything is as he said. We had the laboratory and doctor appointments yesterday all went well. Riding the city bus standing up is like an e ticket ride. We went to the central commercial mall down town after the doctor and hung out long wait for taxi back from there last night. Well today we are going to check out the sheriff restaurant for lunch soon and visit my fiancees aunt later then interview tomorrow. Good luck to everyone else and any questions on things here will be happy to answer.

I think it is great that my posts were able to help you. Please let us know what happens at the Interview. Remember, PUBLIC DISPLAYS OF AFFECTION AT THE EMBASSY ARE A REAL GOOD IDEA. ESPECIALLY, WITH THE CONSULAR OFFICER LOOKING AT BOTH OF YOU/SIZING YOU TWO UP.

Visa approved more details later but they did not ask me any questions only fiancee so I could not ask about joe or for a tour of the embassy lol

Congratulations...very happy for you!

Visa also approved! We arrived first in line today but unfortunately this does not mean anything as you still have to be routed up the chain. More details to come in our review of the embassy. But quick things that i remember of note was the CO was very nice and handled us well. He seemed to take a liking to Adriana because he told her a number of funny jokes. Then when he started talking to me he just asked me what I did and if Adry paid me 10,000 bucks for her visa lol. He was very surprised on all the evidence we brought over and liked the magic jack phone logs. He also liked the fact we had a unique photo album done that included snap shot photos from 4 different visits including the wedding and honeymoon to show validity of our relationship. Thanks to WINKFLASH.COM. The only complaint i have is that they process the visas in the order they receive because arriving first and waiting as long as we did was wrong and that the person that helps at the W40 podium know what the heck is going on. Because we almost had to go through a K3 interview until we repeatedly told her that we got the CR1 pushed up for our convenience. They tried to make us pay for the DS 156 but since we eventually got the CR1 interview we only had to pay for the domesa shipping of her visa. Gracias a Dios!!!

It was a good day.....Congrats!

saw you there I think you had window 4 like we did you were before us and we arrived also around six thirty and it only took five minutes to get inside but we waited five hours or so. first we went to station 40 got the folder put everything in it took it back to station 40 and then were called to window 32 for a few questions. I was a little worried she was not very nice. asked about my divorce and whether there were any others and how we communicated and did not seem very positive but I knew it was a good sign when she put a sticker on the packet that said petitioner is here. Then we waited 4 or more hours to get called to window 4 He only asked about my kids. what work i did when I visited that was about it maybe five minutes and then he said senorita your visa is approved she turned around gave me the thumbs up and I never got to talk to him. I noticed that many of the people there with out there spouse were turned down . there was one couple there for a second interview because he did not come the first time. There was another couple from California that got approved. The other guys were grilled pretty good besides James and myself. but were approved. It seems like if you follow all the information from visa journey you don't have too much of a problem. Oh the first lady corrected where the bank had made my spouse put one year instead of permanent on the 156 back to permanent. The mall ken mentioned close by was perfect for eating cambio etc.

Hope all is well Ken.

Leidys arrived at LAX on-time, and 63 minutes after her plane landed, she was walking out of the airport with me. I was real nervous, because of what I had been through before with my previous K-1 beneficiary. But, everything is solid between Leidys and I. VJ has plenty of stories that can worry most Petitioners, and I believe it is best to focus on your own relationship than worry about what is or has happened to others.

At her POE of LAX, Leidys mentioned being watched as she go in line by the INS agent who interviewed her. She waited 15 minutes until she reached the front of the line due to so many passengers arriving from Central and South America (via Panama City). Once she reached the kiosk where she was briefly debriefed, she was told to get an I-94 (Arrival Record) and to fill it out. The bottom portion was stapled to the inside of her Colombian passport - 1 page from her K-1 Visa. She was debriefed on the need for her to marry and file within 90 days for her AOS. She then picked up her luggage, flashed her Passport, and was on her way up the ramp to the ground floor of the International Arrivals building (Terminal #3).

Leidys is now organizing her piles of clothing right next to me as I type this, and after the long day we had today, we're getting some well-deserved sleep.

Ken, congratulations to you both!!

The hard work now begins because as difficult as the visa process was at times, it doesn't compare to their transition to a new culture and lifestyle. My advice... patience, patience and more patience. If you have it, you'll make it work!

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR ADVICE, LOVE AND SUPPORT!

Today, Leidys began to learn about life in the U.S. It is so different for her, but she loves the slower pace compared with Barranquilla. The security situation is much different with less to worry herself over. Her biggest pet peeve was feeling like a Tonta for not understanding English. This was solved by shopping on the Latino side of town (in Arlanza) for groceries, hair care products, and learning about Mexican culture all at the same time. Not speaking English is the greatest hurdle she will have to clear. Her Adult Ed. courses begin the first week of January.

Here's a few pics of her first 36 hrs. in the USA!!:thumbs:

Meeting my Mother was deep. One of my Father's last requests was to send for Leidys immediately so he could meet her before dying of Cancer. He lost his battle, but my Mother stepped in and helped keep this dream alive for all of us.
