See, we're getting conflicting information from the DAS. They keep saying they no longer issue the booklet but they still do. This is all as per the beneficiaries who have posted in the K1 Spanish thread. Bottom line is, get whatever the NVC will accept since they're the ones who will approve and complete your case. And as Hal said in his previous post, an apostille is not needed. In Colombia they want everything apostilled even if the entity requesting it doesn't care for it, just because it is needed in Colombia for their own personal use, does not mean everyone else requests it or needs it.

An Apostille won't be needed unless the Embassy requests it... You might want to check up with the Embassy itself to avoid getting misinformed by someone at DAS. Lots of that happens.

I'll try calling the embassy tomorrow, but yeah the DAS functionary told me that the signature had to be apostilled.

I'll let you guys know when I find out for sure.

Fact is that the booklet is gone.

Sounds cool. Booklet or no booklet... the ones that control the validity of the document would be those evaluating it at the Embassy. Hope you can avoid this Apostille as its not yet required by the Embassy as far as I've been told.

Or NVC as in your case.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Excellent.

I will call the NVC and the Embassy tomorrow and find out for sure but what you guys say makes sense and I don't think it will be needed.

That's about $20USD less that we'd have to pay. :D

Thanks to kens great posts we are staying at the apartment now. Everything is as he said. We had the laboratory and doctor appointments yesterday all went well. Riding the city bus standing up is like an e ticket ride. We went to the central commercial mall down town after the doctor and hung out long wait for taxi back from there last night. Well today we are going to check out the sheriff restaurant for lunch soon and visit my fiancees aunt later then interview tomorrow. Good luck to everyone else and any questions on things here will be happy to answer.

Make sure to check out Zurich across the street. They have excellent cappuccinos.....with a shot of Baileys to boot.

for those who filed cr1 what did u take to enbassey ? does my hubby bring papel immigratorio ? and are they medical examen same as the k1 and what else

Yes, lab and medical are the same for all immigrant visas. Your husband will have to bring in anything that's on the interview letter package that he didn't send to the NVC such as Migratory Movement letter and baptism certificate if available.
