Thanks for your suggestions....my friend just returned from Cali a couple of weeks ago and had his fiance sign a 325A...unfortunately he forgot to check the form expiration date and there is a more current one available now. So he needs to send one down and get it signed...I had used Fedex in the past but remember it being expensive, so I will pass on your suggestions! Muchas gracias!

Your friend sounds like he has lots of money to burn.

Why not have him:

1. Download the link, print the forms: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1forms

2. Scan the completed forms in .PDF FORMAT. Any competent Internet Cafe will have a staff that is able to do this.

3. Email the forms back to your in-box in .PDF FORMAT

Print, you're good to go. Minus the Domesa or FedEx fees.

Ditto what Ken says- www.welovebogota.com was very nice and great price- I think I was in your same room, Ken!

Joe

My Fiancee Leidys looked on-line, and most hotels in Bogota charge approximately $80 per night. That city is not budget-friendly like Barranquilla or Santa Marta.

Last month, we stayed at www.welovebogota.com and it cost us roughly $40 per night. Much more economical -- Plus, it is only 2 BLOCKS FROM THE EMBASSY. 10 MINUTES ON FOOT.

Here is a picture of me standing in the neighborhood with the embassy just over my left shoulder.

If you get the Master Bedroom (Highly advised), you get this pimped-out view of the city.

For under 5 000 COP each way, you can visit Salitre Plaza - a short ride from www.welovebogota.com for all of your shopping needs.

An IMAX theater is located across the street from Plaza Salitre.

1 Block from the US Embassy is a great American-style Western-themed restaurant.

http://www.cabanadelsheriff.com/home.htm They are only open for breakfast and lunch, though.

Hello everybody,

We sent the Affidavit of Support papers to the NVC about 3 weeks ago. Are you supposed to get an approval notice from them or something? It's been that long and we haven't heard anything from them. Starting to get worried..

We'll be sending package IV out next week hopefully.

Good luck James and Adriana! I truly hope everything goes well for you guys!!

I just read this in the news tonight:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/...-increases.html

When I had a Visa Attorney, he advised me that the only thing that would "Stop" the process would be "Unrest of any kind." Everyone at Colombia Club should keep a close eye on developments.

CristanAmour, there are two paths to the NVC process. The first path includes the DS-3032, the IV Bill (visa bill) and the DS-230. The second path is the AOS fee bill and the I-864 which is what I believe you said you sent them 3 weeks ago. In order for them to complete your case, both paths have to be completed. You just finished the second path, so the first path is still pending. Once you send the DS-230 with the requested documents and they review them you will hear the IVR say "case completed".

Hope that makes sense.

It does! Thank you very much Diana.

By the way, there is a new police certificate that the DAS is issuing everybody. The booklet no longer exists. Now they give you a piece of paper and you have to tell them that you need it for a Visa with the U.S Embassy so they give you a special signature that you have to apostille, which adds a lot to the price but oh well..

I will elaborate on this once I have mine ready so I can show you guys. I already got my police certificate but I don't have my appointment for the apostille until wednesday.

See you soon!

An Apostille won't be needed unless the Embassy requests it... You might want to check up with the Embassy itself to avoid getting misinformed by someone at DAS. Lots of that happens.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I'll try calling the embassy tomorrow, but yeah the DAS functionary told me that the signature had to be apostilled.

I'll let you guys know when I find out for sure.

Fact is that the booklet is gone.
