DS 156 only for K1 or do i need to fill that out at the embassy?

James,

Form DS-156 is the visa application for K visas, both K1 and K3. If you choose to go for the K3 visa, your wife will have to go to Banco de Crédito with two filled out DS-156 forms and pay $131. But in all honesty it's a waste of money because you already paid the visa fee of $400 to the NVC for the CR1.

Hello guys,

DAS is now offering the option to issue the police certificate online, though you can still get the traditional one.

Has anybody had any experience using the one you can get online for the visa process? Or does it necessarily have to be the other one? I've tried calling the embassy but they keep telling me to call next some other day lol..

Thanks!!

This was discussed at length in the Colombian K1 Spanish thread and all have only received the green booklet, not the online certificate. Someone else also said that she asked one of the DAS employees herself about which one to get for the interview at the embassy and she was told the booklet as well. Bottom line is whatever the embassy decides to accept and they're the only ones who can confirm this 100%.

Yes, you will need to pay the $131 fee for the K-1 Visa.

Laboratory Fee = ~$90

Physical Fee = ~$80

Vaccinations = ~$200 (I think)

Domesa Delivery Fee = ~$30

Your AOS fee will be about $1,000.00 after you marry your Fiancée.

These fees completely emptied my bank account (combined w/travel to Bogota (From/To LAX) + (From/To BAQ) :wacko:
