My husband had his medical exam with Dr. Roa yesterday, and on the vaccination worksheet in results Vaccine History Incomplete then Applicant must be eligible for blanket waiver because vaccination not medically appropriate was checked off. I believe this is because he did not present his vaccination history and has had varicella. The Doctor gave him the MMR shot and the TDap. I just want to make sure that this shouldn't be a problem for the interview nor at POE. --thanks!

On a more informational note, I had tried communicating with the Red Cross for weeks and coincidentally I found it the night before the appointment in el Centro Andino first floor. The Red Cross in el Andino direct number is 621 3111 ext. 123. They said that they have trouble with the number listed on their website. They have very long service hours. It was something like from 9:30 to 9:45 but call first to confirm. They give me a price list of the three principle vaccines needed and it ended up being more expensive then having it done with Dr. Roa. The prices at the red cross are the following: Varicella 102,000.; MMR(triple viral) 25,000.; TDap (DPT)80,000.; and el carnet Internacional 4,000. While with Dr. Roa these three came out to 203,000. Dr. Roa uses a group in the same office builidng named IDE(Imunologia y diagnostico especializado) and their number is 214-9403 if you want to compare price with them and the red cross in the future, since my prices will eventually change. this groups also has another office at Cra. 9 #48-40, consultorio 402 and telephone 570 0028 0r 570 0029. I don't see why Dr. roa shouldnt' accept vaccinations from the other office that's not in his building or in the fact the other female Dr. Just added this info. in case this second address is much closer.

I knew that i wasn't going to be allowed in, but my husband wanted me to go with him. If you happen to be the companion just spending time, I recommend you walk east one block to Usaquen Antiguo its a really charming plaza, then take a walk to Hacienda Santa Barbara. I lucked out that they had live performances, so it made my time go much faster and I didn't not have to wander around a mall.

My husband said that the exam went well. The doctor was fine. No complaints on his part. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. I guess we have completed all the major steps, just pick up a few more docs and print pictures for the interview next week.

Ok and update on my Colombia embassy experience. the embassy emailed me back today in regards to my Ap process. This was there question.

Great news today. the embassy emailed me and asked a strange question about my wife. they asked me if my wife was married before? I said yes she filed divorce prior to our marriage and it was complete.

I wonder why they asked this question, this information is in the original I-130 packet. So now I know this AP process has to do with my wife's prior marriage. the email said this.

Dear Mr. Whitted:

Thank you for your message.

Please inform us ASAP: was your wife ever married prior to marrying you?

Thank you,

IV Unit

Have you guys heard anything back from the embassy? I hope they give you the visa quickly...

Joe

We received another email on Thursday. they did allot of work on our Ap this week. My wife is due for our baby in November. Our case has been pending for almost three years.

Dear Mr. Whitted:

Thank you for your message, and for the information. There has been a lot of action this week on your administrative process, but it is still not complete. Again, we are very sensitive to the mitigating factors in this case and will call your wife immediately as soon as we are able to proceed.

Sincerely,

IV Unit

I had a conversation with another VJ'er this morning, and we had questions about the VISA APPLICATION FEES.

Leidys paid the $131 Visa non-immigrant visa fee at the Bank in Barranquilla. Is the $380 also applicable to our K-1?

Even the information on the Bogota, Consulate page appears misleading with its' use of the words Immigrant and Non Immigrant and the fees which apply.

Bogota Consulate Information

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...&cty=Bogota

K visa applicants have to pay at the bank because K visas are technically non immigrant visas. They cost $131 USD in pesos and the Embassy collects all non immigrant visa fees through the bank. Immigrant visas cost $380 and are paid at the Embassy.

Leidys answered this question for me last night on the phone. The $380 amount listed in Packet 4 is for Immigrant visas. The Non-Immigrant K-1 Visa price is $131. The big wammy comes when we pay our AOS fee of approximately $1,000.00 here in the U.S.

Hi all,

I was wondering how long will my petition actuly sit ar NVC.

They had gotten it on 9/24

I have Bgt NUMBER ALready// When do you think it will be in Bogota?

Carl,

Ian and Lisa (UK) on the April CSC K-1 thread told me exactly when the DHL package shipped to Bogotá. There is a formula everyone uses, but I never figured it out (due to my Mathematical ineptitudes). Drop in on that thread, and look up Ian and Lisa and they can possibly help you with this. Good luck, amigo. :star:

The embassy should receive the package no later than this week, so try the DHL instructions to track it down and if that fails, you can simply call them every Wed. to find out if they got it, or e-mail them.
