Flights to Colombia are reasonably priced at the moment. My travel dates are from October 3rd through October 8th.

Twister -- Maybe we can meet someplace for lunch or dinner in Bogota? PM me w/your cell phone and I'll do the same.

Chao,

-Ken

That is great that your guys cases are moving along so well, mine is just begining to set its foot on the racetrack. The embassy now has Adriana's paperwork and is in the process of sending her the packet 3 paperwork, but I'm going to go the recommended route and have Adriana email them the choice of agent and ds230. Or maybe it would look better if I email it on her behalf from my mil. email. The NVC just recieved the I130 package yesterday and now comes the task of calling till twice a day till i can recieve the case number and let them know our emails.

You guys are awesome, Ive learned so much that maybe I can help other airmen in the command file their paperwork in case they have no one to turn to overseas while stationed abroad.

If what I knew after the divorce in '06/'07 as I know now, I would have spent the money on my Jeep (Rubicon Express/Air Rock Suspension). But, by chance I met Leidys and everything is great.

Be sure to let your fellow airmen know exactly how careful they must be to not get taken advantage of. I would hate to hear all of the bad stuff that did happen and could have possibly happened to me, happen to an unsuspecting guy that has never been to another continent where guys are preyed upon.

Hi James

When my hubby made the payments online for AOS and IV Application, there is an option where you can add another email address to receive the receipts so you can print them, since he included my email address, NVC started emailing me all the letters they sent to my hubby. That was so good for us. Mail in Colombia is very slow, when they sent me the choice of address and agent by mail and email in march I received it by mail in June. Regarding DS230, the form doesn't allow to save any information typed, so you have to type it, print it and mail it to them with all the civil documents of your wife.

Good luck :thumbs:

Sorry for the visa letdown. Hopefully, you both had an excellent time catching up while changing your pace outside of Southern CA for the last week. In roughly 18 days, I'm leaving for Bogotá. The Interview is coming up, and I have so much to prepare for. Thanks again to everyone on this thread for the help that you provided. I genuinely appreciate it. :thumbs:

Thanks for the support Joe and co, I really think things will get better for you and the AP will end soon.

Just wondering if the baptismal certificate was needed at the NVC side of the house for CR1 visa? The K3 checklist for the embassy seems to want one but since we are only doing the K3 as like a practice run, should we even need that for the CR1 afterall?

James,

If you look at the embassy's instructions you'll see that it says it's an optional item they're requesting. As of two years ago it was mandatory to bring in to the interview. And no, the NVC does not request it but packe 4 of the CR1 which is sent by the US embassy will also mention it. Double check if it says "optional" but last time I checked, about a month ago, it said it was.

Hi caliboy, as I know, NVC doesn't require the baptismal certificate, but in Bogota US Embassy, in the folder they give you to put all

the civil documents of the applicant they ask for it, and they keep it. So she better gets it.

Ahhhhhhhhh ok thanks for the speedy responses you guys.. So here I was just busily preparing some documents and downloading music when my yahoo instant messenger chimed that I had just recieved mail. I checked right away and found it to be the online documents from the NVC concerning the AOS and DS3032. So i sprang into action and paid right on the spot for the AOS bill and sent my wife the DS3032 for her to fill out and scan back to me. I also received from her through the mail her DAS police certificate and the DAS migratoria. However the DAS migratoria is in a sealed enveloped meant for the embassy, (she has two of these because one was meant for the K3 as well). My question (silly i know lol), if the envelope is sealed and meant for the embassy then why does the NVC need it.. Are they allowed to open this up as well? (confused)! Otherwise I am just going to write on my cover letter that the DAS Migratoria that they requested is inside this supicious looking sealed envelope... I hope they do not call in the bomb squad on this one... i wouldnt want to delay anyoneeeeeeeeeeeeee at allllllll. Yikes! Here are some pics of it..

Looks like the same, flimsy (and full of incorrect entry/exits from Colombia) Migratoria that my wife had.

If it isn't needed at NVC and you send one... it will likely be trashed. Ours was barely looked at at the Embassy. Its seriously a worthless piece of paper TBO.

how can i reschedule our interview date for later in the week? this really sucks and never thought i would need to even think about rescheduleing but our interview date is tuesday April 14 and unfortunetly is the week of semana santa (holy week) and the medical offices will be closed the end of the week. i called today to schedule an appt. and they said for the 7th, therefore the 6th she (my fiance) would need to get her laboratory exam. we dont know anyone in bogota and really cannot afford a whole week (even more) in bogota....would we have to write a letter asking to reschedule our appt. for friday april 17? would they do this and what excuse would we need to give? does it need to be faxed with all details like when send the packet 3 documents? thanks everyone

I know Omar G doesn't need this information any more, but just for future readers. I am not sure if you can postpone it a week, but to make changes to your interview email IVBogota @state.gov . We postponed our appointment months later, and they were helpful at the embassy. They asked me what month I wanted my interview for. I had asked for Sept. but they forgot to schedule my appointment on the first round. I sent them an email reminding them of our previous conversation, and I mentioned that I did not mind if our interview was for October. (we are both living in Colombia thats why i have been flexible, and my husband has to finish a project before he leaves) On their second round of scheduling Sept. interviews, they scheduled us for Sept. 29th.

James,

The Migratory Movement Letter is not intended for the NVC. They only request it for your wife to take with her to the embassy the day of the interview.

This is the list of documents you will need to send the NVC along with the DS-230 (which comes after they receive the DS-3032)

Required Documents

Original documents, photocopies, and translations of the following documents must be submitted to the National Visa Center for the applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States.

* Birth Certificate

* Court and Prison Records (if applicable)

* Deportation Documentation (if applicable)

* Marriage Certificate

* Marriage Termination Documentation (if applicable)

* Military Records (if applicable)

* Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page

* Police Certificate(s)
