Mr. Twister,

Thank you for this information!! Tuesday morning, I will be awake early to take care of this...until then, the Jeep awaits!! I'm going Jeeping in the desert with my friend Mike. Hopefully, I won't roll her end over end on a certain obstacle I plan on tackling tomorrow afternoon!

Just call while jeeping bro, the news of an interview coupled with some rum (i hope you arent the one driving and drinking) will be great im sure hehe.

Diana I called to ask about my case information and the I129 was recieved and sent to Bogota on September 1st, arrived on the 3rd and something should be headed my wife's way in the next few days. However one tidbit of information was wrong, yeah this is so weird but my DOB got entered wrong at the NVC because when I called to ask about it they couldnt give me any info. So right away I sent them an email about this and proved my date of birth with my passport biographic and driver's license as an attachment. I hope they receive this soon. The person whom I talked to last night said that the I129 was already sent to the embassy so I would have to call there. The I130 however they have yet to receive.. I am definately wanting to get that email update taken care of. Snail mail is definately not what I want to use.

Question.... Does the embassy email things as well to the beneficary if you wanted them to? That might make things go fast on that side as well.

(I posted this on the Colombia AOS page also, but thought some things might be of value here.)

Been too busy to visit or post lately. I hope everyone is doing well.

Update on our situation...

We are on hold for our own personal troubles, taking one day at a time. Most of our issues revolve, in one way or another, around my relationship with Lorena's two sons - mostly the older boy. Funny thing is that when the older boy and I are home alone (like right now while Lorena and the younger boy visit her sister out of state) we get along just fine. He is generally respectful and does as I ask. When she is at home, he can be insolent, disrespectful and just plain rude. Not so atypical for a 13 yr old, though. Lorena has no experience with 13 yr olds up to now so she places almost all of the responsibility on my shoulders since I am the 'adult'. We've been to a counselor and he basically said what I already knew - 13 yr olds are almost ALL insolent, disrespectful, and just plain rude. It's part of growing up and testing newfound independence. All of this is simply further complicated when a step-parent is involved as the young teen usually sees this person as an outsider and even potentially a threat to his/her relationship with the biological parents.

We'll either work it out or she will do the same as Margara and go back to Colombia. Time will tell.

Just as a word of advice to anyone marrying someone with kids (Colombian or not). Do NOT underestimate the potential issues of 'instant family'. The older the child(ren) the more potential problems exist. Your spouse or future spouse WILL choose his or her children over you every time. And that is how it has to be. Just be aware of the fact.

On those cheery notes.... until later.

Charles

James,

I have never tried to get the embassy to email me anything, but the website explains that they do not due to so many people they have to deal with. You never know, and should give it a try. Leidys and I did receive our email notification that the DS-230 and DS-2100 was received. Joe Cannon also mentioned that it is one employee at the embassy that receives all of the emails, so you never know. Give it a try, amigo.

The desert was feeling the effects of tropical storm Jimena yesterday.

You mean fill it out online so it then prints out in duplicate... I'd do that. But when we went through that stage of the game it wasn't available.

Our NOA2 was approved on August 4th, and Leidys has not received Packet 4 yet. I'm watching your posts Mr. Twister real closely in order that I do everything correctly. Thanks for posting your questions.
