Why don't we all just go to Bogotá... have some Buñuelos and Chocolate con queso at 5AM and then go to the Embassy and ####### the Embassy staff into just finishing that darn AP for Joe?

If it would help the cause I would do it...WTH I would do it for the party

Ay Dios Madre...

My command has just graced my unclass email with a selection for reassignment! Im possibly going to be headed over to Osan Air Base South Korea in March but not sure if I will be able to make this an accompanied tour or not. My Adrianita knew for awhile that this was going to be a big possibility. My only hope is that I can find the true answer about this today. It is both our wishes that we can get past this immigration BS asap now more than ever. With the approvals of the I129 and I130 in the books, we want to continue to pursue both visa petitions. Naturally we originally wanted the I130 but considering the circumstances anything that gets her here fastest is the best choice. My questions are begining to mount so I thought I would write on here.

My understanding is that the NVC sends the I129 application to the Embassy while the I130 is retained. What should I do when both require the originals of the limited supply of originals I do have?

The DAS certificado judicial/migratoria is sealed in an envelope for the embassy but can we make a copy for the NVC's own use?

Should i just drop the ball on the I130 altogether? The I129 K3 visa will still let Adriana revisit Colombian if needed right?

James (worried and impatient)

James,

Don't forget that with the K3 you still have to file for AOS after she gets here while with the CR1 she won't have to do anything else so my advice is to stay with the CR1 and follow the shortcuts. If follow the shortcuts and stay on top of things you'll have an interview appointment for October/November at the latest.

Diana

James (worried and impatient)

James,

Let your wife Adriana ask this when obtaining her DAS. Perhaps two DAS certificates are better than one? :innocent: Just order two separate certificates and hold one for NVC? That would be my guess. Good luck on the tour, amigo. I'm hoping you can bring your wife with you. BTW - My Father proudly served in Korea 1951-1953.

Angie Y Shane, They called you and scheduled an interview on the 8th? I guess the US Colombian embassy is having a shortfall on applicants and this is not their busy month :). This can be a very good thing for everyone! Yupi yupi.

Diana, I know i know.. I want the CR1 and would like nothing more to be rid of AOS and all that. So we will try our best to see how fast Adriana can get it. I hope those shortcuts are still in grade A effect. I heard they don't do barcodes and give out the ITNs anymore greatly delaying how much time we were able to complete the NVC. Still im thinking if I send a notice showing my relocation orders maybe the NVC will get a jumptstart on it.

Ken, thanks and Leidys was able to talk to Adriana on yahoo earlier today about the confusing DAS policy. My worry was not being able to having enough of the product to carry over for both the K3 and CR1 packages.

Ill keep ya posted!

It may be possible to be able to take her with you. I've known folks who've married foreigners and taken them within a year of having them arrive in the States to overseas posts.

Did you take a look at the Packet 4 necessities?

Did you book a flight with Avianca yet for your SO into Bogota? The Bus (terrestre) is cheaper, but night flights are inexpensive, also.

Brother ken with all those vacations to Barranquilla and your fun times in Mexico i was wondering if you did any work at all hehe :P.

Yes we did sommmmmme of the research, Adriana has been talking to Leidys on chat and we are most likely going to save money and stay at her apartment in Bogota, then just leave really early for the interview apt. The I129 paperwork was sent from the NVC to the Bogota Embassy on the 31st, so I hope that my esposita receives something soon so she can begin on it. We are both highly anxious and we want to try all the shortcuts out, even the I129 to I130 interview change if the I129 is earlier than the I130 and the I130's paperwork is at the Embassy in time :D. Hopefully all works out for all of us.

James,

Have you called the NVC to get your BGT# for the I-130? Once you get this number, you will need to talk to a live customer service rep ASAP so you can give them your e-mail address. They will then e-mail you everything you need including the IIN which you will need to make all payments online. If they don't have your e-mail address, they will mail you everything via snail mail and it will take weeks to process. Also, call them really early in the morning, at around 7:30 a.m. or very late at night, 11:30 p.m. (EST) to get connected to a live rep. I found that the night people were nicer and more flexible than the ones working the day shift. If you call in the middle of the day you will never get through.
