Guys! as I promised this is our interview experience on July 22:

We got there around 6:00am; there were plenty of people at that time. We got on line #1 but the embassy coordinators put us on #3. They let us in at 6:55am and send us to station #40 where we were given a green folder with instructions on how to organize all needed ducuments. Since it was a CR-1 visa most of the documents they had already but we included my wife's pictures (2), passport, Das certificate and Das letter shown exits from country and return. They call my wife on window #29 arount 9:30am to turned in the folder, to verify that all documents were ok and to give us all documents not needed (everything that we sent to USCIS that we were told that NVC didn't have). After a long waiting and seeing most people getting denied they call my wife around 2:10pm for interview on wi :thumbs:nd ow #3. Nice white gentleman stated asking for pictures of when we were dating and wedding, then he told my wife that I had to go and seat, then he stated asking her questions like how we met, where do I live, when we met for the first time, how many time I have visited her and more.

After that he told her that he needed to ask me some questions. Fisrt he ask me "Are you aware that your wife is pregnant? I said yes! How sure you are that it is yours? "I'm sure about it" I replied, and then he stated making other questions like how we met? where you married before? how many children do you have? What do you do for living? and he asks so many questions about my job since he used to do the same king of job before he said. After questions and more questions he said the magic words "WE WILL ISSUE A VISA FOR YOUR WIFE" I felt like he took 50 pounds away from me, I thank him not knowing how to react, I felt like crying, smiling, screaming, It was a joyful moment that you dream about it but when it finally comes you have no idea of what to do.

After thank him I just turned around went straight to my wife, hug her and gave her a big kiss then I told her "Mi amor, we got approved" This was one of the most happiest days of my life.

I can Thank you enough guys for all your help; now my wife is finally coming home August 5th after a very long journey and our baby will be borne in USA. Thank you guys again, your friend;

If we already sent all my civil documents to NVC, Birth and marriage certificate (updated this year), and DAS Police certificate issued on March 2009(good for 1 year), all originals, should I get everything again for the interview?

Yes, the NVC should send every single document you sent them to the US embassy. BUT, it's always to bring photocopies with you just in case.

Ok thanks Diana, so I don't have to do collect again those documents right?. I have photocopy (simple not notarized) from the DAS Police Certif. I wonder because I was checking the appointment package at the US embassy website and they ask to show up at the interview with those documents. If NVC collect all the civil documents and sends everything to the embassy, are they going to return those to me the day of the interview to be able to put them together in the green folder before I talk to the CO ?.

The appointment package they have on their web site is only for K visa types which are not processed by the NVC, so they have to bring in all of those documents listed. Since you already sent them to the NVC, they should forward them with your case to the embassy. Once you get there, you will be sent to a window where an embassy employee will review your case and make sure every piece of paper that is needed has been received, if they are missing something they will ask you for it right there and then. After you're done at that window they will send you to have your fingerprints taken and then your interview. The first lady who reviews your case will send it to the CO for your interview.

The only thing that comes to mind that you will have to bring in with you is your Migratory Movement Certificate (Carta Migratoria) from the DAS. They will give it to you in a sealed envelope and then you will give it to that first lady who reviews your case before your interview.

Just FYI

I hit 3 months of being in AP in Colombia, yesterday. I was wondering if anyone else is also stuck there in AP? Here is a copy of my last email to the embassy (and their response) to me. I didn't know that the same person was apparently getting my emails there- I thought maybe there were several people that could possibly receive them? It isn't the actual CO that interviewed me, that gets them, is it? Anyone know?

I guess I will just have to chill out and let time roll on....

RE: Help please- K1 case # BGT...

Mr. Patton,

I assure you that I have looked at your case, personally, each time that you have written to us. I can tell you that these administrative processes, unfortunately, are taking a long time right now, and you are certainly not the only person in the same situation. I do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but at this point writing to us every week is not going to help your case be processed more quickly.

Sincerely yours,

IV Unit

Hi,

We have been on "Administrative Process" for exactly3 months now today... I was hoping that the unit or division that conducts the AP there at the embassy could just have a quick look at my case file? If you are waiting to get information back from some agency, maybe someone could please just check into it? I know I am just one of many probably stuck in AP, but there has to be someone "assigned" to my case that could maybe have a look and see what the wait is about, and make sure my case is not lost or just sitting on someone's desk...

Thank you so much,

Joseph Patton

But yeah Joe you might want to cool it down a tidbit since they wrote you that. I hope they aren't all uppity in delaying your file any longer than necessary every time you write and tick them off... but I doubt they'd be that childish. Have you considered writing to your Congress Rep/Senators? I'd have a letter with these email replies attached just in case and send off to them in a week or two if there's no update from them on their own.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

But in a couple of weeks...

Thanks for the advice- I will not contact the embassy anymore, at this point. I didn't realize the same person over there was getting my emails...

I will contact my Congressman in another couple of weeks if I do not hear anything. How frustrating this has been....
