I having a problem wiith the embassy that now they are saying that they haven't recieved our case when NVC send it since June 26th. Can anyone tell me waht to do!!! and the interview is June 22nd... :crying:

Orlando...

There's not much you can do but keep pestering the US embassy and the NVC until one of them tells you where it is. My gut feeling tells me the embassy already received your case for the CR1 but are confused with the paperwork they have for the K3.

Well I called the NVC on Monday morning and the guy treat me very bad! He didn't care much and gave me a lot of #######!!! I ask to talk to a supervisor and he said that he could not pass the call to a supervisor since there was no case with them, that I just have to wait because the file could be anywhere! but he said it to me in a cruel way. I faxed a request to the embassy twice, last week on Thursday like they told me to do requesting them to find the case since NVC said that the already send it and my wife send another fax yesterday requesting the same. I hope something happened soon because we feel in the middle of no where!!

Let's see what is the outcome of all of this! Thank you guys..

Orlando... faxes at Bogotá tend to fall off the fax machine into the space between the file cabinet it rests on and the wall. Ask them to push the file cabinet against the wall so their faxes don't do this.

Seriously... when someone talks really rude to you... be nice and find a way to hang up... and call again so you get someone nice.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I don't think the people at the embassy in Bogotá know how to use a fax machine. It's my own personal belief that they just let it run all by itself not knowing what all that paper it "throws up" is for.

But seriously, there's a few meanies at the NVC especially during the day, night time is best. Another thing you can do is call the embassy directly and explain the situation, that way you can talk to someone about your issue and see if they have both of your cases there. They take calls every Wednesday from 2-4 I believe but check their web site to be sure.

Or... send them an e-mail.

Or... just go to your K3 appointment and explain to them there that you want to use it for a CR1 and that the NVC said the case was already received by them. I find it hard to believe that with them having your paperwork for a CR1 will give you a K3 visa, it's impossible since you already paid all fees at the NVC.

Exactly... Diana's logic is true once again. It would be beyond any reasonable paper-trail that if you had two appointments set for two kinds of visas... that all of a sudden the paperwork that established one of the appointments all of a sudden went missing.

My take on this is that two separate consular officers are handling the paperwork and naturally... are not communicating. A phone call to the embassy, very politely explaining the situation, should clarify things.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

The phone call I would suggest start right at the time listed. I tried so many times ( mind you with patria Latina ) with phone cards and never got through. However they were pretty good about answering my emails within a day or two MAX . I sent them like 5 different emails. Mind you this was back in january of 08 but they answered and very nicely I might add.

Hello all,

I am still here dying a thousand deaths waiting in AP. I did get a response back from an email I sent the embassy, last week:

From: jpatton@cusa.canon.com [mailto:jpatton@cusa.canon.com]

Sent: Wednesday, July 08, 2009 5:51 PM

To: IV, Bogota

Subject: Help please- K1 case

Hi,

We have been on "Administrative Process" for more than 2 1/2 months now... Is there ANY information I can please get as to what is happening with our case??? I tried calling yesterday (Wed.) to the Visa Unit, but your phone just rang for over 30 minutes and no answer. Last Wed. I was able to get thru and speak to someone there about our case, and they mentioned you have received one piece of information, but are still waiting for a second item, regarding our AP?

While I have tried to be patient with this long process, the AP wait has been most painful for my fiancee and I... Can someone please take a look at our file?

Sincerely,

Joseph Patton

Dear Mr. Patton:

I have personally looked at your case and can verify that we are still waiting for a second administrative process to be completed.

Sincerely,

IV Unit

So, I don't know- of course I would love to know exactly what they are requesting and from what agency- U.S. or Colombia.... anything at all, but I guess that is not possible. I did contact my Congressman last week, and one of his staff members was going to inquire to DOS, but I am sure that will just get a form letter response....

Just thought I'd post an update....

Joe

Oiiiishh... my right kidney says hi. If you have dry garbanzos at home, soak them in water and drink the liquid they give off as much as you can stomach during the day. It tastes nasty but they help break up the stones in case you're not getting ultrasound or any other treatment.

See... told you the interview stuff would sort out.
