Do any of you guys know if Bogota Embassy will allow to use a K-3 interview for a CR-1 since I have both ready and with interview date! do you guys know anything about it?

Thank you!

Orlando....

Orlando,

Since your case was completed right in the middle of June, start calling the NVC now to see if they were able to schedule your interview for July with the embassy. If not, you can use your K3 interview for the CR1 visa as long you're 100% sure that the embassy has received the CR1 case from the NVC.

Yep... And IMO... if the purpose is to use the CR1 instead of the K3... I believe someone up in the early days of this thread mentioned something about this as being technically improbable but not impossible. Communication with the embassy would be better advised than with us as procedures may have changed.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Approval from the CO or approval from the USCIS?

They've actually stopped making things so complicated at both the NVC and the US embassies, so anyone who has a completed CR1 case at the embassy can make their K3 appointment for a CR1. But again, they have to be 100% sure that the embassy has all the paperwork for the CR1 or they will use the appointment for the K3 visa.

Another option could be canceling the K3 visa appointment and leaving the CR1 visa open but then that would mean you'd have to wait a few more weeks. Whatever works.

Hey Orlando, I know that the welovebogota.com has some very good and affordable hotels. even the embassy reviews has some information regarding where you can go and at a reasonable rate. They have reviews there too so you can see how close it is in relation to the embassy. Good luck on your interview! Tell us all your results.
