Hey as Costeños, they probably think that they can handle anything. feels that if she can survive the weather in Bogota, she can handle anything.

I'm always surprised to hear people in Colombia say that Bogotá is pretty cold, even from people who were born and raised there. The average temperature is around 65ºF and at times it can get pretty warm since it's so high up. Last time I was there 3 years ago I was walking around with nothing but jeans and a t-shirt with my sweater wrapped around my waist just in case I needed it. I never used the damned thing.

I-864 problem, Ok im confused, I sent the I-864 (wife) around 20 july i sent the i-864, tax transcript for 2009,2008,2007, employment letter, and pay stubs. For her son . For her son I made a copy of the original i-864 and submitted it with my wifes i-186. According to the instructions.

Often a spouse or minor children obtain visas or adjust statusas dependents of a relative, based on the same visa petition. If you are sponsoring such dependents, you only need to provide a photocopy of the original Form I-864, as long as these dependents are immigrating at the same time as the principal immigrant or within six months of the time he or she immigrates to the United States. You do not need to provide copies of the supporting documents for each of the photocopied Forms I-864

Today i recieved a email from NVC that says they need 2009 tax...ok they probably lost it, fine i will send another copy. It also says "The biographic information provided in this part does not match the principal applicant of the associated petition". I just called NVC to get more specifics and they said that i was suppose to have made a seperate i-864 for my stepson..according to the instructions a copy of the original should have been ok...or maybe i misunderstood.

(i have two seperate petitions and two seperate cases wife/son)

When we were in Bogota in June, it was in the 60's during the day and I wasn't cold, but Carol was. Funny because being from Florida and used to 95F everyday I wasn't cold and Carol from Cali which is 85F everyday was cold. The difference is the fluctuation in temperature in the US versus in Colombia. The temperature in Colombia fluctuates by 10-15F and 25F in the US. I did need a light jacket in the evening.

Its the humidity combined with the air temperatures, plus lack of sunlight. But, I live through 110deg.F heatwaves and summer camp in San Felipe and think it is normal.

I did not think bogota was cold out even during winter but I think that is because Seattle is always cold. Sandra is always cold there even during summer.

KL77,

The NVC is correct because the instructions you're reading are for people who are Adjusting Status from another visa type. For CR1/IR1 and CR2/IR2 visas, the process is different at the NVC where you will need to send individual packets for all beneficiaries as well as pay separate fees for all of them.

Diana,

Thanks, that part of the instructions was'nt very clear, I thought it applied to all visas. Anyway I submitted according to the instructions (2009 tax transcript) and new i-864 for son (stepson). So do you think I will probably get another invoice to pay another $70 to process my sons i-864?
