Hola Panama,

Finally! We just called DOMESA this morning and her visa is available!! Whoo Hooo! I'm here in Bogota and we fly out Thursday so I was getting pretty worried. Apparently although we were approved on June 10th her visa was not actually ISSUED until June 18th. ?? Yesterday just before my flight down here I called the DOS and they were able to tell me the issue date and that was it. Of course when we called the embassy they told us over and over to call between 2-4 on Wednesday.... No help at all  . So.... If you have not gotten yours yet you might want to check with DOS if it had actually been "ISSUED" and when????

Good Luck Mi Amigo

Tony

We got our interview date letter today :) but aren't we supposed to get packet 4 with that?

I would think so, but since everything else in packet 4 EXCEPT the actual appointment letter is downloadable online from the embassy web site, that shouldn't be too much of a problem should nothing else show up separately in the mail.

you or your fiance? by mail or email? if you received it by email you won't receive the instructions because it is for the beneficiary who will receive the letter and instructions by mail. BTW, the pckt 4 is the interview date letter not the instructions

Our interview is on August 3rd.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to pick up the visa from Domesa in Bogota? Plane tickets are super cheap from Bogota to NYC right now at $255 for a one way with taxes included, so I'm wanting to buy the ticket ahead of time (yeah, I know I'm not supposed to, but the tickets should be going up in price soon I think, and to change the date of the ticket is $100). Anticipating approval, is 9th of August (6 days - plane leaves at night) enough time?

Hi,

If I were you give it 5 business days not including the weekend of course. I would think if you were to pick them up from the office they would be ready by no later than the 10th. Is your fiancee from Bogota? If so, you will not be able to pick them up from the office. For us it took 4 business days and there was festival on a Monday so noone worked.

It's risky to buy the tickets in advanced. But good luck to you I hope everything works out for you.

is unpredictable what happens with the embassy and DOMESA even if you get approval. You've read the two previous pages of this forum? success stories that were saved at the last minute (PanamaJack and Tech-MoLeidy) but this one was not Mike

Good Morning Colombia Club! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Is it required to get a letter from your bank stating the amount in my account etc? or do they not really ask for that?

So far I have 3 years of my W2 and 1040 taxes, a letter from my job stating everything they wanted to know, and the last three months worth of paystubs.

Thank you! :)
