Just out of curiosity, may I ask why they wanted a DAS certificate done on YOU in addition to the usual one on the beneficiary? I've never heard of that before. Although I've never lived there, I've been down for about a dozen visits of between 3 & 10 days each within the last year and a half, so I'm wondering if that might make me at all likely to be asked to get one too...

They never told me why .They just said go and get it and the visa can be processed.....I'll never know why..They do this to specific cases..I happened to be one of them but to this day I do not know why..I would not go and get one as the odds are 1 in 1,000 that they will ask for this.

I only ask because on Aires and Jetblue, it´s cheaper one way and kind of hard picking a date in the future. So there should be no problem purchasing one way or will the people give my fiance trouble at the POE? Do I have to purchase the ruondtrip within 3 months away from eachother (since that´s the time given to marry)? Thanks

Kevinn, You are correct about JETBLUE... The price one way from Bogota to Newark New Jersey was $242.00 plus tax for us..

Yakad, Thank you so much as you and Diana have helped me so much in the last month getting ready for this second interview..I only hope that the Domesa delivers it to her by June 24 because I booked a flight 3 weeks ago for her to the USA for June 25th. They told her she CANNOT pick it up at the domesa office because she lives in Bogota....

Yakad, Thank you so much as you and Diana have helped me so much in the last month getting ready for this second interview..I only hope that the Domesa delivers it to her by June 24 because I booked a flight 3 weeks ago for her to the USA for June 25th. They told her she CANNOT pick it up at the domesa office because she lives in Bogota....

Say Whaaa? Congratulations first of all!!!!!!!!!......but we were told it wasn't a problem to pick it up a DOMESA.... I hope we have not been misled!!! Leidy called Thursday morning and was told probably we'd get it Friday (Approval being the 10th)..... Oh man! Now I am paranoid! She never got packet 4 and I'm cluless to what her conversation to the DOMESA guy actually consisted of. Oh man oh man!!! STRESS!!!

you can choose any date, the airlines usually give 1 year to use the return, it is not necessary that the return is in 3 months from the date of entry (in my case, I'll use the return next year)

We are filling out the DS-156 form i have a couple of questions if someone can help us please.

question #14. National Identification Number would that be his cedula number? yeap! is his cedula

#26. how lond go you intend to stay in the US? the answer would be forever because we are getting married LOL. but what should the answer be? Permanently

#27. what is the purpose of your trip? can the answer be to get married? Marriage and relocation to USA with my fiance XXX

#32. do you intend to work in the US? the answer would be yes but it says there that if its a yes to write the name and complete address of employer and we dont know where he is going to get a job yet. NO, the intention-purpose of the K1 visa is to marry

#33. DO you intend to study in the US? and the answer is yes again because he is going to study english but we dont have the full name and address of that either. NO, he can study, but now you don't have the information now, no problem if you put NO

YIPPEE! - NVC just confirmed that they sent my file out to Bogota on the 15th! DHL tracking of that day's only shipment to Bogota shows it already delivered & signed for about noon on the 17th. Completed DS2100 & DS230 from Packet 3 just e-mailed out to the embassy, wish us luck to try and still catch a July appointment date before the final July list is updated "between the 20th & the 30th" next week...

Hi, Congratulations Panamajack, The parrot was right, lol

Today the visas were ready to be picked up, my flight was at 7:55 so I could not do it , but my fiancee's flight was at 9:30 so she was able to pick them up. It took 3 business days to be ready to pick up from the Domesa office. So that's my good news my fiancee and her son received their visas today!

Ours was not available yesterday for one reason or another. I am concerned I will get some kind of "oh yeah we forgot to send yours out" scinario.... Monday? I sure Hope so! Our flight is Thursday

How did you pick your visas up when they told my fiancee that she must have them delivered to her after telling them she lives 10 minutes from their office and wanted to go and get it.? Tech is having a problem also..Their interview was on the 10th. and they did not have the visa as of yesterday. Read the post above this one...

Congratulations again,

After the interview we explained to Domesa that she lives 8 hours away and of course I live in the U.S.A and we did not want to take a chance with the mailing system, It was also cheaper with the pick up option.

My fiancee lives in Manizales , so it was not a problem. It's an 8 hour drive or a 45 min flight.
