hopefully when he calls again on tues to the doctors office they can change his appointment time to a later appointment so they have enough time to recieve the blood work and xrays results. this all gets a little stressful because from the stories i hear the doctors get a little complicated! :wacko:

I did the laboratory tests in the morning (7am) and medical appointment the same day at noon and had to return at 7pm for the results

We can all make a difference. Please recycle

I do not know why, but the lab work is usually performed 1-2 days (max) before the interview. Last minute madness. :bonk::wacko: Don't stress, try to have a good time, and enjoy your new environs. I went for a walk in a beautiful park while Leidys was at her Lab.

I do not know why, but the lab work is usually performed 1-2 days (max) before the interview. Last minute madness. :bonk::wacko: Don't stress, try to have a good time, and enjoy your new environs. I went for a walk in a beautiful park while Leidys was at her Lab.

nice pictures ken so would it be better to get the lab done a day before the medical exam?

I would demand that you get your medical exams completed 2-3 business days prior to your interview. I don't see the point in rushing around if you can get your exams completed and have a 1 or 2 day cushion/relaxation period. Trust me, the day of the interview you will be stressed out enough. :yes:

11/17/2008 - Received NOA1 hard copy in the mail

1/23/2009 - Received email stating I was approved (NOA2) on 1/22/2009

1/26/2009 - Recieved NOA2 hard copy in the mail

4/29/2009 - Embassy interview date - was put into AP (given a form with 221(g) box checked)

12/25/2009 - Still stuck in AP- almost 8 MONTHS and counting... :(

12/28/2009 - Embassy finally called my gal for another "interview"

1/14/2010 - VISA APPROVED at the second interview- took about 8 1/2 months of AP

1/21/2010 - Visa delivered by courier- BUT, she opened sealed envelope that was for U.S. Immigration at POE.

Now embassy in Bogota wants us to do the medicals all over again.... nightmare continues.....

2/22/2010 - She went back to Bogota to get labs and medical re-done. Then back to embassy where they finally

re-issued the visa. Is valid until July 13th

7/3/2010 - She made it to the U.S. finally!!! I filed on November 11th 2008 and went thru 8 1/2 months of AP

12/16/2010 - Sent in packet by Fed Ex to Chicago

1/7/2011 - Notified by email from USCIS packet was received

1/25/2011 - Notified by email we are receiving an RFE

2/4/2011 - Sent translated birth cert in (RFE)

Hey Joe,

How are you doing? I'm leaving for Cali at 7 am this morning...in a few hours. I'm going a few days early to make sure Carol has everything ready. She has been very good about taking off work to fill out documents and meet deadlines. Unfortunately, I have to pay $350 for the visa fee...oh well. We are flying to Bogota on Monday, the 14th. We can both fly round trip from Cali to Bogota for $200 on Aires Airlines...better than taking a 10 hr. bus ride each way. I've ridden the Colombian buses before and I told Carol...nunca nunca nunca. Hopefully, I'll have good news next week...I'm confident that we'll be approved. Let you know when I get back.

Ha- yeah, no way in hell I'd take that bus ride. Valeria suggested it, and I said no way- 10 hours on probably a goat trail!!! I too have taken Aires from Pereira to Bogota a couple times- seemed quite a bit less than Avianca for sure.

Keep us posted on your travels over there...

Ken i know he is getting the medical exam two days before the interview but he doesnt live in bogota and he works and he can only take a couple days off. i am worried that we wont get the blood and xrays results back on time before he has to go see the doctor for the medical exam.

Since my Hubby nd I file joint taxes and he is the one sponsoring our son should I fill out a joint sponsor thing just in case? Hunny's W-2 WAY over cover the poverty limit and so Does mine by themselves. I however alreay have 3 immigrants under a 864 and Hubby has none. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Since he's the one petitioning his son by himself, then he's the only one who needs to fill out the I-864. However, you never know with these people so have yours ready should they ask for it, even though I doubt they will.
